I thought about this and analyzed myself because people do bad things from time to time. I come to the conclusion that I’m not capable of hating people, with Christ in me.
Hate is the opposite of love, so love and hate cannot be on the same place at the same time. You either love someone or hate them.
My example is always God. God does not hate people. John 3:16 For God so LOVED the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
The world that God loved is not the “world” but the people inside the world. The next sentence clear this with WHOSOEVER, meaning anyone – no matter your colour, your size, your language or your state of sin. You can be the worst of the most horrible sinners, and then you still will be classified as WHOSOEVER. If I love God and I do, and God love people with such a marvelous love, to even send His only Son to pay a price for WHOSOEVER, who am I then to treasure hate for ‘WHOSOEVER.’
Yes people do hurt, disappoint and verbally abuse me from time to time. There where times that someone did very bad things to my children; A time when someone murder my brother; Time that someone rob me; Times that my friends are disloyal and do bad things to me; Times that the Christians persecuted me. Times that people spread lies of me on the net. Of course, things like this do stir emotions in me, emotions of great sorrow and despair, but never hate. Through the word of God I learn how to handle my hurts and disappointments, how to forgive and set people free. Most important is to keep your eyes on Jesus when something horrible happen.
Anyone who harms me, or my children, is my enemies and the word of God teaches me to love them. This is the solution:
Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, LOVE YOUR ENEMIES, BLESS them that CURSE you, DO GOOD to them that HATE YOU, and PRAY for them which DESPITEFULLY USE YOU, and PERSECUTE you;

As Christians, we are still capable of terrible things. We should look to see what is inside of us and seek to get rid of anything that isn't like Jesus. Jesus gives us that capability, but I believe we have to be proactive about it. Does that make sense? I'm kind of tired. |

With the recently hijacking of my son I found myself again in the place to not allow bitterness in my heart. The men who stab my son was all three black and today while interceding for the black people of South Africa God stop me right in the middle of my prayer saying to me that I first have to rid out all bitterness and all resentment towards black people before my prayers can be accepted. I just realize that I have to lift up a clean heart and hands before the Lord and I repent and start to pray for these guys.
