I mean, one minute she's completely emotionless, and the next she's slathering biofiltering (or whatever) gel on Trip's back (almost naked, I might add).

I asked one of the guys from church (who is a self-proclaimed Trekker- not a Trekkie like me) this same question and he gave me some excuse that I didn't really buy. I'll tell you what he said after you guys give me your theories. Thanks!

Because she got Pannar syndrome from a mind meld. She had it for some time and many episodes clearly mentioned this fact. She was secretly taking a medication that was making things worse. When she got caught, she had to deal with it and quit taking the poisonous medication. Recent events have provided a cure.

Sure, Vulcans have emotion. They are just conditioned not to show it. Sybok in Star Trek V would be the best example to learn about this.

Further on she was "date-raped" by a renegade Vulcan, causing more instability and then was exposed to trillium (trillium d?), opening an emotional dam. She became addicted to the trillium and had to undergo therapy administered by Phlox to overcome the addiction. I think the series' writers have probably made her more vulnerable to human emotion since she is the first Vulcan to become close to humans and rather would like to experience what being human is all about (like Data on NG). Anyway, that's my analysis of this issue for what its worth (nada)
Wow! I think that covers it. *sees multiple trivia questions burried in this post* = )

I just watched an episode of Enterprise I recorded and I remember the *real* reason the show never took off...the theme song sucks!!! I was petrified the first time I heard it and I cringe if it ever gets in my head. Eeewwww! Either do an "instrumental" like with DS9 or do a variation on the old "Space, the Final Frontier" bit. I normally just mute the theme out, but sometimes I'm slow and those few notes sink in. *groan*

I love that theme song!!! You young whippersnappers!!! My daughter thinks the theme song isn't befitting of the program either, but it gives me goosebumps and makes me want to fly away in my starship . I'm deeply wounded!!! I particularly enjoy seeing the footage of the astronauts that I well remember from my youth. Oh, my, my, WalkswithChrist, I'll be for you.

Ummm yeah I have the same problem, I mean when ever I hear...

Well, You don't know what we can find,
Oh why don't you come with me little girl,
On a Magic Carpet Ride,
You don't know what we can see,
Why don't you tell your dreams to me,
Fantasy will set you free.
Close your eyes girl,
Look inside girl,
Let the sound take you away

... I wanna take off to space
I think this would have made for a better theme song

Of for those that missed the point, the song was in one of the TNG movies and it worked well.
