nah, funny story... in year 8 D&T we were doing a food tech unit. One of the things was that we had to make a display of the stufwe'd made. My teacher gets out a tablecloth that was rather wrinkly and says to me to iron it. I looked at her blankly and said "but my mum wont let me use the iron, so I don't know how!" Of course, I have learnt since then. In fact, I spent over two hours ironing at work the othr day

Reps: 57,723 (power: 94) | | Hahaha!! Lovely story, Lauren! Sort of reminds me of the cookery shows on TV when the chef will wipe the outside of the plate to get rid of any splashing sauce or stuff and make it look perfect ...I wish my retention of info on how to correctly iron my shirts was better though. But one day I will take a bit more notice of the nuances of the task and do it more often!

My siblings (5) and I all learned to do our chores around the house around the age of 5/6....and there were times we resented our Mom for this. Living on my own for over 20 years, I had to take care of my house. And I'm glad that Mom taught us....or we'd be living in a pig sty!

Which is a shame that I didn't help my mother more out of the goodness of my heart. So, I guess when I got older if my mother didn't tell me what to do, I did nothing. It's different on your own though, it's gotta be done then. In fact I became a bit of a perfectionist but have mellowed over the years.
PS> Lozzie and Kristian... I asked the question in 'Questions about CF' in CF Support. Go have a look to see what Erwin answered....

um, to be able to live in a clean environment again (sounds funny to me for some reason) is most important in terms of hygiene.

Reps: 18,289 (power: 31) | | Loz, Queen of the House for a bit!!
Girl, when I lived at home I couldn't have cared less what the place looked like - I just wanted OUTSIDE!! But you should see me now, I've turned into a veritable cleanFREAK. I can't stand a cluttered home, never mind anything resembling dirt. So, being the outdoorsy gal I am and having pets, I'm in clean mode quite often. I actually take a lot of satisfaction in finishing a morning of chores and the house is nice and clean!
