Some hold that they left their wives behind and no longer lived as married people.
There is another tradition that Peters wife died as a Martyr.
Either way, concerning the legality of their marriage being ended in divorce, we do not know. also ive heard that one pope will say one thing and another pope will completely contradict the other pope by saying something completely different and contrary
- heretical link removed - good example
In the excersize of his teaching office, the Pope will not contradict another Pope. A pope can give a theological opinion on something, which is not 'doctrinal' by its nature, and that could also be wrong. Also a doctrine can be developed, and some folks - such as on the heretical site you linked - maliciously make development out to be change. A boy develops into a man, and it is not a contradiction to point out where one pope called it a boy, and another called it a man.

The Apostles were called to follow Christ and leave behind what they had to do His work. This does not imply divorce. |

Why are you bolding this and using such large text? We aren’t blind.
Marring or not marring is not a doctrine, it is not a dogma, it is a rule, a discipline of the Latin rite Church, the eastern rite Catholics who are in full communion with the pope have married clergy.
So your point is what??
The Church- possess the keys of the kingdom, the keys of authority to bind and lose. The Church can make Church laws and then change them if she wants, what she can not do/never has done is make up God’s laws, e.g., change doctrine because this is what was taught by Christ and it is unchangeable.
Anything you want to throw at us as a refutation of the Catholic Church, we can defend. Is there anything else you would like us to defend?
