The Earth is 4.6 billions of years old, and the Bible DOES NOT teach it is 6,000 years old, so stop adding to it. |

No, it was not in response to you, but to the original poster who called the idea of an old earth "stupid".
And, no, I don't think that her pastor is stupid, just misinformed, most likely. I have never yet met anyone who had seriously studied the age of the earth actually come to the conclusion that it was young, unless they had determined before their studies that it MUST be young, and would not seriously consider any other possibility. But, yes, I agree that there are millions of Christians who fall into that latter category.
