The most common way is to have a degree from Pepperdine, or Harding or another CoC school. They have placement programs and many churches look to one of the colleges that suits their flavour of doctrine.
Another alternative is to have finished a course in bible at a bible school. Again most of these help with placement.

Study 1st and 2nd Timothy carefully. These were books written to encourage and give direction to a young preacher by his father in the faith. He told him, among other things, "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly." (1 Tim. 2:15-16)
Take the advice of Jesus on Matthew 10:37-39 seriously. Every Christian is in the ministry of reconciliation. Every Christian is commanded to make disciples. Every Christian is a ambassadors for Christ. We have to be follow Jesus even to the point of death and heed His Spirit if we want to be successful in ministry. This is the first prequisite in following Jesus or entering into the ministry if you want to put it that way: forsaking all and denying one self. God Bless. Hope you guys will understand that all of us Christians are ministers one way or the other.
