wow... its actuallu pooring down our way... what temps it there rob.... lol, car air con is sooo dodgy... when we drove to perth (in the middle of summer mind you), we couldn't have the air con on ever, from fear of it overheating the engine... This is in about 48C, so that wasn't very nice..... ....

But you are the same lord whose nature is always to have mercy. Grant us therefore, gracious lord, so to eat the flesh of you dear son Jesus Christ and to drink his blood that we may evermore dwell in him and he in us. Amen.
It's just humidity today in Penrith - we had some rain pass through about 2 hours ago. Inside in the room where the main computer is it's pretty stifling, and I can't find the key that opens the glass door overlooking the balcony we have. It's a bit uncomfortable, but I can imagine Rob's putting up with much worse!

We have no air-conditioning in my house, so its all down to the ceiling fans and upright fan we have in our house.... :S... but im used to it, so I'll be fine, besides I dont altogether hate the hot weather....
Well, as I'm in Brisbane like Rob, I can answer this one for you. Its only 31 degrees right now (4:30pm) but at 1:00pm it hit 35 degrees and the humidity is at 50%. It's not overwelmingly hot but you can feel the air thick around you which feels quite oppresive.

lol what car was it?? my car is fine with aircon, no overheating at all... (in 40+ weather) trust me up here you need air con for summer, and you dont want to have a black car.. today it got up to 35 (where i am) with around 87% humidity, but it looks like we are going to get some rain tonight and for the rest of the week
and Kris its not too bad in my room, but tonight will be a horrible night to try and sleep... stupid brick wall, and glass door.......

For obvious reasons I can't use pellets. Mum put sawdust and egg shells around my veg plants and that didn't work. I was in tears when I had seen what they had done to my vegies (seriously I was, but it was after something else had upset me and yeah, I was a mess already)
Mum came around and put some beer traps around my plants and said she'll check them for me next week because I don't think I can stomach dead snails.
I was vomitting outside the front door this morning because I got a whiff of the sausage fat sitting in a frying pan left from last night by my wonderful husband so yeah. I don't think I can stomach dead snails.
Anyways back on topic. It isn't too hot here at all. It is muggy yes, but I don't consider it "hot" until it gets past 32. We have only been getting late 20's so it's not too bad.
We are getting some big storms though, a whole week of them last week, mostly in the afternoons.
Neens, just pop a jar lid, or a saucer with some salt in it for the snails honey. They'll go straight to it oddly enough.
Right now, the thunder overhead and all around is astonishing to hear! It's very cloudy, but so far, nothing has happened in the way of burst plumbing in the sky.
OOPS! Just started raining ..... hehehe ...

It's raining here too. It was so funny just before Daniel went to sleep he said to me "I feel cracky" I thought he was trying to say I feel crappy lol. Then he says the thunder is cracky. So I knew exactly what he meant then. I am so glad he hasn't picked up something that I seem to be saying on a regular basis because coming from a 3 yo would just sound absolutely terrible.
I hadn't thought of the salt. Does it kill them Bev, or do they just eat that and leave the plants alone? If the beer traps don't work that's what we'll do.
At the moment it's only a few plants in pots and there's a few pots with nothing in them, and at the moment I don't have motivation to do anything with the empty pots.
The salt kills them Neens, it acts the same way as pellets. They'll go for the salt before the plants! A few plants in pots is the way to go. I have cherry tomatoes in pots, and strawberries. But that's just for handiness sake.
Yes, we have had some viscious cracks of thunder here! My little dog even barked at one!
