Has he given you any valid reason as to why he wants to leave you? Has your personality changed quite radically in a way that he cannot handle it or has difficulty with being able to handle it?

Yes, we have all been given free will to do and believe as we so wish, but what is important to you is that your husband and marriage comes first than anything else in your life.

Don't let ANYBODY force you to defer to their way of thinking in a way that you could end up sabotaging your marriage, or it could end up being the worse for you *and* your children in the long run.

I've seen how there has been much dissension and needless stress in my family line when some members have been recruited into these churches and their influence starts to f^&* with their marriages.

There is ONLY one reason why your husband should file for divorce: and that's if you have been unfaithful to him and he finds out about it. Then again, I'm sure you aren't that kind of woman.

Hi all, the end of a working week for you all! Happy friday night!
Hopefully an end to the threat of my marriage breakdown, at least for now things have calmed down.
Bren has returned home tonite as if nothing has happened... "A soldier never says sorry" is his motto. As frustrating and confusing it may be, at least we're still together. Praise God for His faithfullness, and praise God for you and all your prayers.

God made me realise a couple of things last night, as He usually has a habit of doing at these times. I will share them with you, only as it may make you think about your own relationships with others.

A. God showed me that I had unconsciously been trying to change B, not by shoving the gospel down his throat (which I know well enough not to do, hence alienate him forever) but by using critisism. Too often picking at what/how he does things, for example telling kids about E=mc2 and the theory of relativity, or what an army tank does, just simply because I believed that he was in the wrong. We all "know" that we can't force someone to conform to our own ideals/expectations, but are inadvertantly trying to do exactly that?

B. I realised that because I had come from a "broken home" I had in my yearning for a proper family of my own, painted the picture of the ideal/perfect family. this painting is of course unrealistic. I realised that no family could live up to all that my ideal family represented, and unfortunately least of all my own! The fact is that even good christian familys have their fair share of problems, as I am sure a few of you can tell me.

(As much as we all hate the valleys, out of everyone of them comes something good. Mostly we come through them a little wiser about ourselves and/or our circumstances. Sometimes we have to go through them a few times before we get the idea and let it sink in.
As much as we gain a little insight, it is another thing to actually actively use what we have learned for good; and knowing something doesnt always make the road any easier at all.)

There are more issues than these at stake of course, but this is what God has shown me, and has led me to share them with you.
There is still a humungous road ahead for us... But I know that God is with me all the way! In fact I'm sure that He's been carrying me for a while now

I heard sthg relevant on the radio this morning. A woman said that she started praying about her husband's strengths -- that God would use them. She said that it stopped her focussing on his failings. And his strengths did get used ...

She also said that although your spouse might not be the perfect person -- no one is, and they are God's perfect choice for you.

(Abusive relationships -- hmmm ... I do not know how they fit into the picture. But then, if I had a theology that could wrap everything up nicely, with no raw edged, I wouldn't need to be in the forums ...)

We're still in the same house ! Thats a start
It aint easy. Im feeling a bit angry atm, I know I shouldnt, but cant seem to get past it today. I feel like I've had enuff but, also know that I have to hang in there. I know that God definately wants us together, and I want to do as he wants, but I feel like a terrible two chucking a tantrum... as Sean would say "I-dont-want-to-ever-again"
I probably just need a holiday down at the beach for a day or two...
