How can I talk to some friends who think they are Christians by inheritance, but have never accepted Christ? They believe that they're Christian because their parents' were, and if I try to get at the topic they get all edgy. It's so hard to talk to them, they think why listen, since they're already Christian! But they don't walk the walk and never have accepted God's gift! I wouildn't be able to live with myself later down the road if i didn't try to help them, but i need some advice. Anyone with experience in talking to these types of people?

The first thing to do is be patient. Then keep setting a good example. Invite them to church activities you think they will be interested in. Get one or two to attend Sunday school with you if they dont already.
Point out, occasionaly the good things God has done in your life.
When something happens in their lives they had little to do with,
point out how Gods working in their lives.
In otherwords, be yourself and keep setting a good example.
You know you have already pointed out to them, or have you,
they need to allow God to work in their lives. Otherwise, Christs death on the cross is meaningless in their lives. That they need to accept Christ for themselves, as you already know. And then Christ must be allowed to express Himself through them.
Anyway, that is what I would do if God led me to do it.
So, Keep your eye on God and He will lead you and provide the opportunities he wants you to work through.
God Bless you Sister

That was a wonderful answer and sooo true. The best way to lead others to Jesus is by our actions. You can't force someone to accept Jesus, because then you'll never know is it truly in their heart or not. We need to be the 'light of God' to those who have not accepted Jesus as their Savior yet. You also need to keep praying for these friends everyday.

Good advice from solo66 and jesusaves! You will just have to be subtle and patient, I believe before anyone parts this world, everyone will have an equal chance to experience some kind of overwhelming evidence of our Lord, and have a fair opportunity to be saved by our lord JC!
Thanks, everyone. A couple of these are coming to a party a church tonight! Pray that God works on their hearts.

How are you feeling today? How did everything go at the church party with your friends yesterday? I hoe well, but be patient. Let God work in His own time.
Peace to you
I am ok...stupid people at school spreading childish rumors annoyed me a bit, but nothing unusual, i guess. My friend didn't show last night, but there are other opportunities i'm currently working on, like church sunday. So i'll continue on, patiently as possible. Thanks for asking!

I agree, you cannot do anything alone, cry out to God, and seek help to him... for if you believe everything is possible

I've been in the situation that you are talking about. I have been a Christian for 21 years, but prior to that I went to church reasonably regularly and thought that I was a Christian.
The change for me was wehen I prayed with some born-again believers in a small group and realised that they were talking to someone with whom they had a relationship! That was the trigger they set me on my path to God.....
So, I suggest that when they see the relationship that you have with Jesus, they will know that there is something different about you. I have often heard people in their testimonies say that they saw something in someone theat they wanted. I suggest that the "something" is a personal relationship with the Father......
supermagdalena,
Stay strong in the Lord and remember, the more important the work you are doing, the more Satan and his demons work against you from the outside and inside. So, stay in prayer for guidance and His covering. He will be your fortress.
God give you peace.
