Wot, Me Worry?

I don't want this thread to get too heavy because I am taking a fairly light hearted approach to the topic!

I am one of the world's born worriers. I worry about my family, the state of the world and my health! I even worry if I haven't got anything to worry about. I do have to admit that I am rather better than I used to be, but this poem gives you some idea how it is for me!!!!

Wot, Me Worry?

A worry gene is implanted in my DNA
It predisposes me to attacks of anxiety!
Each new day is greeted with a frown,
What problem will disquiet my breast today?
Will World War 3 eliminate the human race?
Or a meteor hit my house before I break my fast?
The news bulletin provides an endless worry opportunity.
Earthquakes, floods, interminable bad news items
To add to my already overfull lexicon of cares.
I find a lump in my bra, PANIC, OH GOLLY GOSH!
Relief as the large crumb of toast is revealed!
The day rolls on, no major disasters to report,
Then why is my face still puckered with concern?
I am worried because I have nothing to worry about!!!!!!!!!!!

I worry about everything all the time!

I know it isn't healthy and it isn't faithful, but I do it. I worry about silly things way in advance and worry about things that could possibly never happen.

I have been working with God about it. I drive my loved ones and myself crazy with it.

Oh I worry about everything and anything! I worry about my family, money, and everything else that goes along with family..I was a born worrier too..and I just have to sit back and think that God wouldnt give me anything more than I can handle, and sometimes I have to say that outloud a couple of times to register..

One of my best friends, Heather, is a worrier. She even worries about potential situations that have not even happened yet, and she is a PSYCHIATRIST! She is awesome with solving everone else's problems though. She always says she and I are a good balance, I help bring her out of her world of worry. I tend to not worry about anything. Heather insists that a building could be burning down around me and still, I would be as cool as a cucumber. I think not though! worry does have its benefits too, it can help prepare you emotionally for things to come and so on and so forth. Its all just a part of our genetic makeup. and I think everyone worries about things from time to time, thats only natural...

Kinda sounds like a dog after it's own tail. One good thing is that people who worry tend to live long lives. One theory is because they run to the doctor over every tiny little thing and early detection can help a lot

Still God does not give us the spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind. I find it is best if I am "worried" or concerned about something to pray it though tell God give me peace that it is going to be alright. Worry is a sign for me that I need to pray more and seek after God more. Also, perfect love casts out fear.

Sometimes we have to choose between worry and faith. If we have faith, trust and believe God, then we will know that there is nothing to worry about. Thanks, JohnR7

I worry about getting into the master's program that will be the best for me. I worry about who I am going to marry or if I will ever be able to have children...the list could go on, but when I get worried I remember that I have to trust in God and lean not on my own understanding.

I think that I worry most when I don't have enough to do. Keeping myself busy with my artwork, poetry and writing certainly helps to keep the worries from taking over!
