You have DEFINITELY GOT IT RIGHT!

I most certainly believe that God is not willing that any should perish and that all should come unto repentance - and that also includes His fallen spirit creatures (though i strongly doubt the sacrifice of Christ made atonement for the sins of fallen spirits) HOWEVER i believe that Satan is so beyond ever asking for God's forgiveness due to the fact that he, in full knowledge of the Person, power and workings of the Triune Godhead, willingly made such a decisive decision that only he, as a result of his God-given power and wisdom could make (unlike us a mere mortals without such knowledge of the Deity) As a result of his enormous pride and rebellion, he would never seek forgiveness of God even though he knows his ultimate destiny is total defeat and the worst torments of the lake of fire forever and ever !!

Reps: 1,701 (power: 10) | | | i have no clue if God would take him back... He might becasue He is a God of mercy and love... but at the same time, God might not becasue lucifer DID have so much pride and arrogence that he turned his back on God even when he knew what his fate would be...

If you're just talking hypothetically, and not theologically, then yes.. I would like to believe that God is a God of forgiveness, no matter what we have done, what we do, or what we will do. It's the basis of my belief that I am saved, that God loves me, and will continue to do so, no matter how imperfect I am. Same would go fo satan... but as I said, theologically/theoretically/practially he's down there for good!

Reps: 775 (power: 0) | | | It's got nothing to do with the extent of God's merciness. I think the devil won't be able to repent because being once the highest angel created, it knows so much about God and everything that sinning is an option it chose without any room left for ignorance. The conscious choice of an angel is strong, total and is unredemmable/unrepentable. It's like they are given all the grace in the beginning being in God's direct presence (unlike human who do not know all as did Adam & Eve) another ounce of help from God would mean tempering with the angel's freedom of will, and God isn't one that makes puppets around Him. Thats what I think. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
