Where does Satan get his power from?

I was reading part of a book a while ago about angels. It was saying things such as angels are only capable of being in one place at a time etc (i can produce references if needed). Satan was an angel, so how did he get the vast ammount of power he has today, or is he the mere coordinator of demons?

Satan's power comes from being an angel relative to us humans. He was the highest created angel under God. Satan can only be in one place at one time but he has 1/3 of the angels that followed him plus the unclean spirits he made. All angels and heavenly beings live outside time and so does satan and the fallen angels. Satan's power comes from being able to go in and out of our time line to different times in human history.

He originally got power in the earth when mankind let him in, and once in he had legal rights to the planet and to effect things on the planet and try to change things. Satan has limited power but God is all powerful.
