Went Back to Charismatic Church And Learnt Something

Hallo,
I just want to share that I went back to the charismatic church on Sunday with the intention of committing to the Church. By God's grace, I woke up early enough to take two buses and arrive in for Sunday morning service on time!
And this is the church I wanted to visit more than 4 years ago. Finally I visited!

During the worship, I became conscious of how I could very well be caught up by the music and be 'emotional' about God. Then I realise that if I was emotional about God, so be it! That doesn't mean I am going to turn out into a total emotional Christian. I had to let go and just let God lead me. I had to let go of my stereotypes and concerns. Just focus on God! Then I started enjoying myself and knowing that eventhough knowing God is hard work and takes effort, I mustn't neglect the joy of being a Christian and expressing it in worship to God!

The sermon was an inspirational and motivating call by the Senior Pastor for all of us to be active in sharing the gospel. He outlined the church's strategy for a 'CityNet' and talked about how the church leaders were not the ones to do the work only, but to encourage and mobilize the church, the body of Christ, to work (evangelize).
I was challenged. Most of all, I was struck by the realization that one of the reasons I attended the quiet traditional church in the City was because I was 'lazy!'
I would go, enjoy the peace and quiet, smile and greet a few people, say 'Peace be with you'...and then leave! I told myself I needed that 'time-out', but I think one can carry that a bit too far and cover it as an excuse for her laziness!

I hope that you will remember me in your prayers. I seriously need prayers.

Prayer Points
______________

1)That God will take away my independent spirit and teach and humble me to unite with his body of believers
2)That I will work hard for God's kingdom
3)That I focus on the Lord always.

Praise God for His mercies which are new every morning!

In Him,
Iffy
