Please, can someone help?

My mother lives in a city 12 hours from me. She is an atheist and raised me as an atheist, 2 years ago I became a believing Christian. I have been begging her to go to church. She has gone to a church in her town for the past 2 Sundays by herself. She sent me an Email telling me it was nice and gave me their Web link. The problem is, I feel like something doesn’t match up. So could you please help with finding out about what their beliefs are? In their web site some things stuck out and didn’t feel right. It is an Evangelical Christian church. These are some of the things that stuck out in my mind.

Anointed teaching is the primary catalyst for transformation

The church should be led by those with Leadership gifts.

We believe in the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to enable us to be witness of God's grace to our world around us. In addition, we believe that God supernaturally gives Spiritual manifestations of His power to enable people to minister in situations beyond their knowledge or experience.

We believe in the eternal reign of Jesus Christ in a New Heaven and a New Earth.

And a quote from Robert H. Schuller. Who is he and why does that name sound familiar?
The Church is The Point
Is this in line with Biblical Christianity?

Forgivin, I checked out the website for the church - it looks like a really good church. Your mom won't be steered into a cult or strange religion there. It's a basic Evangelical church, and looks like they have their act together.

Robert Schuller is the pastor of Crystal Cathedral out here in Orange County, CA. Again, if these are the people your mom is in contact with, she seems to be in competent hands. They are very much Bible believers.

Greetings Forgiven,

I am pretty familiar with Robert Schuller. He is a bit liberal for my tastes, but when I was younger, I thought he was right on. As you grow in Christ, your discernment will also grow. Continue to pray for your mom and honor her. By your witness to her, as you get established in the Word more and more and share with her, perhaps she too will get excited by studying the Bible.

You are on the right track, and I would not "fear" for her, but honestly pray that Christ reveal Himself personally to her.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie
