A person's personality is exactly that, who he is. He is not a dead person.

His soul, which is his will and emotions is seperate from the brain.

The brain was not first as it was there encasing the mind, but when brain died, person left. Mind gone...brain still here.

My question is from the beginning........go back with me thousands of years to where we can find a brain. Can you find one? I did.

Where would we find it?

Those all important questions;

Who..........made the brain first?
What.....is the brain first?
Where.....was the brain first?
When...was the brain made first?
Why.....was it made first?
How....was it made first?

There had to be a reason or purpose for the brain.
To encase a mind.

A mind has no need of a brain if it does not exist, but a brain must have a mind or it would have no purpose to exist.

Man searches for what he needs. This is a fact.

Brains do not search, but minds can and do.

LOL, not only do you not read links, you dont even bother to read posts.

Based on your posts:
Mind=reactions in the brain. This is what gives us the ability to think and do.
Death*=the halting of these reactions. As seen from many medical reports.

Thus, the physical brain is still around, but not the reactions that create the mind.

*Medically there are different types of death, I am talking about the one that you don't come back from.

I take it you don't have the answer.

When a person dies, the brain is still there, but the mind or consciousness is gone. Disappeared.

If the brain and the mind or consciousness were one and the same, the brain would disappear also at death.

They are clearly two different and seperate things.

Whaaaaat? Evolution has nothing to do with, "The Big Bang." You are going to sit here and agree with this ringmaster, yet you do not know the difference between Biology and Cosmology???

loren,
I'm sure you could mop the floor with me with your science study's and evolution ''facts'' and all the things that you seem to be able to prove. If we were to debate creation verse evolution I would no doubt loose. I'm not trying to have the right answers or any answers for that matter. I didnt come here really to debate or prove anybody wrong or myself right. If you go back and read my first post. i really was just wondering if anybody heard of em. So thats how I got into this whole thing.

Other worlds? What other worlds?

I honestly didnt think this post would get that much attention 2 or 3 replys from people who had heard of him. I didnt know there was all these people out there that dislike him. I also didnt know much about him or the things that he does. I'd just heard some of his videos.

I'm not really trying a subject as you put it. As for your question what if I were to study science and find out this whole time I was wrong? Well I've lived in the world and I've lived with christ and with christ is funner. I'm more interested in loving God then anything else. For me its not about being good so i can get into heaven. I'm happy like this so I figure keep at it.

Yeah, riiight, when I want to fantasize about a man, I just visualize Kent Hovind and then one of his moronic comments....excuse me I am not feeling well...*runs to restroom*.....

Once you stop thinking of the mind as a concrete entity and start realizing that it is a product of the brain, you might understand their relationship.

The brain is also not as simple as you are making it sound. I can't help but revert to an Internet analogy when I think about this. If there was a worldwide power outage, what would happen to the Internet?

And that is fine... I am not trying to ruin anyone's faith. My only point is regarding people trying to use science to prove their belief system. I am glad your beliefs bring you peace. (really)

Other worlds-I am talking about the recently discovered solar systems beyond ours, who made those?? I was just curious, I always hear creationists talk about God making The world....

Bible

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and if you don't think Kent Hovind is an attractive and totally gorgeous male, then you are not beholding him.

I watch him on Carl Baugh and he is handsome. What a doll!

He does not have a fake doctorate. In the recent email i got from his ministry, he said there are over a thousand websites against him, which is good for him since Jesus said woe unto us when all men speak well of you.

You who said the mind is a product of the brain, please prove that.

You're basically saying the brain came first.

There would be no need for a brain if there were not a mind.

Hunters and gatherers were we, so are you saying we hunted for a mind? Or did the mind hunt" The mind needed a home, but the brain was not necessary until there was a mind.

Saying they appeared at once is not logical since how would the brain know it needed to exist if at first the mind didn't exist which knew it needed a brain to live in?

Yeah right! We hunted for a mind, but gee I wonder what we thought with as we hunted for it.

The mind is the brain? No. The brain encases the mind, but it is not the mind itself.

Say a person is brain dead. The person or soul or mind is gone. The brain is still there.

If the brain and the mind were one and the same, why does the mind disappear in death, yet the brain is still quite real and visible?

They are not the same thing.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

That is akin to saying that the heart is broken up into two pieces. The part that pumps and the part that you see.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Just a side note, he is "reifying" the mind.
