I said that if you think Jesus is God, then he is the same person who caused the flood, destroyed Soddom and Gommorah, sent plagues, sent bears to maul children, stuff like that.

Simple, the States does that because they are powerful and are threatening others. You are trying to use moral persuasion. Quite different. If the US tried to persuade countries not to go to war and used moral arguments, they're in danger of getting laughed out of the room.

God said he did all of those things. Jesus said he was that God. What's the problem with Jesus killing a few million people here or there?
There are plenty of good reasons to argue the point, some have even been answered in this thread.
