    Are conservatives for big government?

To be quite honest, it's not the government's job to recognize any marriage. They should get out of the marriage business entirely. If people wish to join together and create some kind of contract between them, the government should have nothing to do with it.

    Are conservatives for big government?

Also, not getting into the debate about abortion, but... this is hard to explain. From my perspective, wanting the government to legislate abortion is big government, yet at the same time, I can see how a prolife person can be for small government yet wish for the government to legislate...

    Are conservatives for big government?

I... think that might just be code for big government.

    Are conservatives for big government?

It depends how you define conservatism. If it's simply following a strict interpretation of the constitution, which is the definition a lot of people use, the states can require you to do anything they wish. The constitution simply defines and limits the roll of federal government.

Are the Columbine killers to blame?

That isn't true. Sociopaths KNOW right from wrong, they just think that the rules don't apply to them. They think they are above them.

    Are conservatives for big government?

While I agree with much of what you say, Romney's healthcare plan wasn't anti-conservative. The conservative position on socialized medicine, SHOULD be that it's up to each state, which is Romney's position as well. If you believe that being a conservative means simply following the...

Are the Nazis of today the same as those of Hitler's time?

They are not the same at all. Their motivations are different. And most people are nazis today in order to belong to something bigger.

Are the Columbine killers to blame?

Were the victims as well? Yes. Are they to blame? Yes. They knew right from wrong and chose wrong, in my eyes, that makes them to blame. But I do believe they were probably failed on many levels: by the school, by their families, by their friends. The one thing Columbine should teach...

    Are conservatives for big government?

The more I think about it, the more I realize social conservatives really don't see their positions as big government. For some reason, they don't think that government legislating morality and religion is a problem. I understand the abortion side of things. There's many liberals that think...

    O's Albatross.......

Palestinians lob bombs into Israel on a daily basis. It is true that they don't kill many people, but I'm not one that believes that what is right depends on death toll. I've said before that I don't agree with everything that Israel does to Palestine, but I do agree with a lot of it. The...

    Global Warming Alarmism in 1969

Honestly, this seems like a stereotype. Liberals aren't anti-capitalist. When liberals (wrongly in my opinion) wish to cut carbon emissions, it isn't for some hidden, nefarious reason. It truly is because they are worried about the planet.

    Are conservatives for big government?

This isn't the American definition of Conservative. This is the American definition of Libertarian, sort of. The problem with labels is that they evolve. Currently, in 2011 America, this is not what conservative means.

    Christians for 9/11 Truth

I read the OP, which is all I needed to make my statement. I assume the rest of the pages are just a back and forth debate made up of truthers showing "evidence", others debunking, and then truthers ignoring the debunking. I could be wrong, but that's how this goes 99 percent of the time.

    Christians for 9/11 Truth

This has over 100 pages. I didn't read any of them. I simply wanted to say that being a Christian doesn't make you any less nutty when you are a truther. "Christians for 9/11 Truth" seems like people trying to give their conspiracy ideas relevance by equating them with a popular religion.

    Global Warming Alarmism in 1969

I'm sorry, do we know this? I would love to see data on this. I mean, I'm not saying it isn't true, but it would seem odd that the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere has increased so substantially. I wasn't aware of an uptick in volcanic eruptions.

Charges Against Strauss-Kahn Unthinkable in France

It's pretty much the same here. Go visit Freerepublic or other places of conservative "thought". They are absolutely shocked... SHOCKED I tell you, that this low rent Muslim has the nerve to try and extort money from this good man.

    Global Warming Alarmism in 1969

I sometimes wonder about the motives behind CC deniers. Are they simply uneducated, or are they educated from the top down, receive money from the energy companies and then prey on the gullibility of their followers? Climate Change, in its simplest terms comes down to this. One of these three...

    Are conservatives for big government?

Conservatives are for "big government" when it suits their needs. Social Conservatives wish for the government to govern the personal lives of people and establish a morality. Conservatives from farm states wish for big government ethanol subsidies. Basically, the entire party wishes for...
