you can do a liturgical service, full of law & gospel, and even the traditional hymns, but move away from just organ/piano...God said "Make a joyful noise"....churches should not feel horrible for being so bold to have a guitar or a trumpet or some other instrument played...to take a...

it may be an extreme comparison, but this thread is making it sound like WELS is going to force him from his faith...an extreme example may be what is needed... as for the differences the LCMS has not realized before -- i have mentioned in other threads as well -- i have been to LCMS churches...

i am not sure where you are getting this -- no where does WELS say that they are the only true believers...i have never heard a WELS person say otherwise...and your comments are very upsetting... i am sorry this church is not working with you in the way YOU want them to, but sometimes we have...

then any church that practices close communion is a "closed club" so make sure to avoid the LCMS (or at least their churches that follow what they say is their doctrine)

i know (from personal experiences there) that WELS/ELS works through a group called Thoughts of Faith in eastern europe (ukraine, latvia, moldova, bulgaria, russia, etc) -- they work with the ukrainian lutheran church and other confessional lutheran church bodies in those countries... WELS also...
