I agree with the OP and I hope that TEC will address it at the next convention, although the way things stand now I don't hold out much hope for open communion to make it past the House of Bishops.

If it were me I would honor my pledge to the first church, letting them know I was leaving and would not be renewing my pledge. I would let the new church know that I would be pledging with them once my previous obligation had been met. I think both churches would understand and appreciate...

I would say he is evangelical,his major message is almost always"Go!" From the great commission.

Bishop Curry is fantastic! I was privileged to hear his "Crazy Christians" sermon three years ago, and his sermon at the final Eucharist this year was just as good! He also spoke at the "March for common ground against gun violence" in SLC, and it was interesting to hear his fellow Episcopal...

This happened to my husband and me on Christmas Eve years ago when we were newly married, in a new town, and looking for a church to start going to. It is also a big reason why we are not Presbyterians even though that's the denomination we both grew up in :D I still regret not standing up...

I agree with this. Is it your alternate view or just "an" alternate view?

My point is there is change, and there is change. Not everyone agrees on what would "change" the creed. But of course I like the better translation. It does change what we say though, and had to be approved by General Convention. I'm not advocating for "Mother and Father" or whatever.
