    Question About the Republican Party

The origin of the symbols for the two parties goes back to the late 1800s. I don't care what kind of elephant represents the republican party...I want to know what the heck happened to the party. It's unrecognizable these days. Maybe it's finally time for a third party. Let the far Left carry...

    Seriously, Fire Alarm?

Thanks to Matt Gaetz we now have the speakership turmoil hogging the headlines, so Bowman just might get away with his shenanigans. The investigation is ongoing, but don't be surprised if this matter evaporates into the ether.

    My employers are Hindus

I would imagine so, if they're of a different faith. If I was a Christian business owner and one or more of my employees used my place of business to worship what I considered to be a false god, I wouldn't like it. That doesn't mean I don't respect their right to worship whoever or whatever...

    My employers are Hindus

This should be an easy one...which is more important, liking the work you do, or working for someone you consider to be more upstanding? There are two reasons that would force me to quit a job on religious grounds...if my employer was involved in illegal activity (in which case I'd also report...

Judge Tosses Out Atheist Lawsuit Accusing Hawaii Churches of Defrauding Government

True. And let's pray that God raises up more sensible judges like this one. We need them.

Christmas a day of terror for Christians in Iraq, say human rights groups

Here in America we complain about being 'persecuted' Christians. Yes, our faith is mocked, marginalized, and attacked by many, but we should be thankful that we live in a country where we're not persecuted the way people in the countries cited above are. We're still free to express our...

Is everything a matter of ethics?

I guess if you look in every nook and cranny of the decisions you make you'll find some ethical trace, albeit very small in many cases. The question is, is it a good use of your time and energies to explore your 'micro-decisions'? God only gives us so much time to use productively.

    business on CF

The problem arises in how you express your need. I wouldn't post a message looking for or offering products or professional services in any general discussion area. But if in the course of a discussion someone happens to express a need that you can fill, I don't see a problem taking it offline...

What Encourages Belief in God? Amazing Sights of 'Planet Earth,' Says New Study

Ps 19:1 - The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Honest observation of nature, of the universe, is a call to faith. That's an interesting article. Thanks for sharing.

    God hates children?

I think your friend is either trifling with you or he/she isn't very resourceful. The arguments, if you want to call them that, are so weak that it leads me to think you're dealing with someone who doesn't take this matter very seriously. Lots of really good replies by the other folks here...

Are Lefties better than Righties? or is it the other way around?

Hmmmm....you might be on to something! :)

Are Lefties better than Righties? or is it the other way around?

If the left side of your brain controls the right side of your body, then only lefties are in their right minds. Of course, I might be an exception....

Is the pastor the ultimate authority in scripture?

I'm with freak on this. God is the ultimate authority, and scripture interprets scripture.

Saying 'Amen' when the Pastor talks

I'll mutter it softly when I feel the urge because that's all I'm comfortable doing. Same goes for most of the other folks in the congregation. There's one fellow who's really vocal and I find it distracting. I think he's trying to draw attention to himself, and who wants that?

do you look to Christian business?

If I find out a business is Christian-owned or operated, I'll give it a second look. I don't go by face value, though, because any business can say they're Christian. What I look for is the attitude of the owner/manager and the employees. And I don't give them my business just because they're...

Is my (christian) view of god correct?

I believe God has put certain physical laws in motion and allows them to play out until such time as He sees fit to do otherwise. I would say everything happens because He either allows it to or intervenes to cause a change, but either way it's all according to His exact plan.

Baring my soul and pretty messed up. Advise?

I can't imagine what it is like to deal with the challenges you're facing, but I can speak to your obsession with ridding your life of sin. Stop trying. You can't. Dear friend, you are so concerned about what YOU are doing that you aren't fully grasping what GOD has done. I encourage you to...

    cardinals let Pujols go

Yep, the Cardinals were smart to let him go and not sell out the franchise to keep him. Five years from now Pujols won't be performing anywhere near his current level, but the Angels will still be paying many millions for him. Pujols isn't loyal to a city, team, or its fans...he has always...

    Sports, Christianity & Tim Tebow

I don't know whether to be amused or irritated by all the furor over Tim Tebow's displays of faith. Every Sunday I watch player after player exhibit self-indulgent histrionics that say, "Look at me! Look how great I am! Celebrate ME!" And yet one man, who professes his faith (which, by the...
