I think the reasoning is that because a polar bear is bigger and stronger than me, it can consent to have sex with me. On the other hand, a sparrow is smaller and weaker, so it can't consent. :doh:

I totally agree. It seems to be a form of institutionalized domestic abuse. I see incredible similarities between this and husband-on-wife domestic abuse. Control of the weak seems to be the primary motivation.
