    Feel good music!

By the way, to feel good, I listen to songs that I can relate too, or just songs with nice instrumental breaks. I'll never stop loving "Crossroads" performed by Lonesome river band because of that lovely fiddle break.

    Feel good music!

I usually try to avoid songs that are too much for divorces or relations outside of marriage (but these songs are VERY few, usually they don't specify what kind of relation it is). I don't have a problem with drinking as long as they don't sing something meaning that drinking and getting drunk...

    Which Country Artists are Christians?

I agree with you! For me the music is the most important thing, always. Then, I'm very fond of nice lyrics, not only Christian but all lyrics that are special somehow in the ways that I like (I have some favorite themes on songs...). Of course, I appreciate knowing that my favorite artists are...

    Which Country Artists are Christians?

Thanks for your reply, and I agree with you. I also prefer to support those who believe as I do (if they make the music that I like). Interesting about Garth Brooks. I didn't know that. What songs are that you are referring to?

    Which Country Artists are Christians?

No, it doesn't. But Brad Paisley isn't the victim of some recording industry. He writes his own songs, and he also records his own songs, not something that someone else told him to record. Many of his songs also have a great message, not only those "end songs" that are clearly Christian songs...

Looking for classic public domain gospel bluegrass

I must say, though, that I download music and I do it for two reasons. 1. It's nearly impossible to find CDs here in the music styles I'm interested in. I can find some at bluegrass festivals, but I never know what I'm gonna get. If I'm looking for a certain album, I will never know if I'll ever...

Looking for classic public domain gospel bluegrass

That's GREAT to hear! I love that song but haven't really worked with it. But if it's pd I really should try to do something nice with it! But how come it's pd? Is Stephen Foster dead?

    Which Country Artists are Christians?

Let me just ask, why is this such REALLY important information? What difference does it make to us? I mean, more than that it's nice to know that maybe our favorite country music artist is a Christian? Anyway, Brad Paisley is a Christian, and he's in any case my favorite country musician and...

No, but I love Ireland! Where are you from? I'm going to Ennis in November, to visit the trad festival there.

Looking for classic public domain gospel bluegrass

I think this sounds awful. Pd's are supposed to be Pd's and nothing else!!! It's just sick! How can I know if "my" tunes are public domain? I've tried to search on that ASCAP database, but I don't understand what it says really. If there's a composer name, does that mean the tune is copyrighted...

    I like bluegrass!

Michael Kelly does some very decent mandolins. How's the sound of it? I've never tried a MK, they're not availale in Europe from what I've heard.

    I like bluegrass!

I really like your description of bluegrass music. It is so true!!! I'm just learning to play and sing some Gillian Welch songs I like a lot. Her most bluegrassy songs are just awesome!!! (Examples: Acony bell, Miner's refrain, By the mark) what other forums are you on? i bet we've met at some...

I'd vote for Russell Moore (of IIIrd Tyme Out) or Tim O'Brien.

    Favorite country artist?

Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, Patty Loveless, Martina McBride. Brad Paisley is the best song writer I've come across, and an excellent singer indeed. And yeah, I like Dixie Chicks a lot too.

    I like bluegrass!

Hi people! I love bluegrass too. How great to see a bluegrass discussion here. Amen to the one who mentioned IIIrd Tyme Out. They're the best bluegrass band, absolutely. They have an awesome singer named Russell Moore, and excellent pickers too. I also would like to suggest listening to Tim...

Not sure whether there are any banjer pickers in here, but I know there are lots of good videos/DVD on banjo picking out there. I know some banjo pickers online and there's a very nice Yahoo group where we jam online..Unfortunately I don't know anything about banjos, I play the mandolin and some...
