    vision?

I wouldn't call it a ministry, but there is already the American Scientific Affiliation, "A fellowship of Christians in science." (See asa3.org.) Personally, I would rather work within the scientific societies that already publish our journals than from an outside splinter group.

There is a lady who turned 128 today:)

And there were also many people who lived longer than 120 years after this statement, although lifespans gradually decreased after the Flood. I would also wonder how good the records recording this lady's birth were in 1878, though.

There is a lady who turned 128 today:)

The applicable verse here is Genesis 6:3: And the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” (NASB) Some say that this means that God will send the great flood in 120 years from this...

Illegals, Supporters To Boycott and March May 1

I thought this was interesting - apparently in response to the threatened boycott, somebody has declared May 1 "Conservative Shopping Day:" http://www.humaneventsonline.com/article.php?id=14045. Does getting a haircut count?

    ChurchHopping.com

This is an excellent idea. Usually I can find lists of churches in a city, but very little other information on them. I hope the site becomes popular.

Is it possible for Churches to fully work together?

I think the people within my church - er, campus ministry, have different views and customs themselves, yet we do a great job of working together to push the gospel, I think. Of course, our witnessing is mostly friend-to-friend, person-to-person, but many campus organizations have gotten...

Cool Religion Map of the US

I remember reading somewhere that while Missouri thinks of itself as a midwestern state, it actually has had a lot of southern influence. Now we know why...

    How is christianity not contradictory?

Part of the answer - and I'm still thinking about this - may have to do with the fact that the Jews were essentially living in a theocracy. In Romans, Paul points out that governmental authorities are God's avengers to execute wrath on those who practice evil. The governmental and spiritual...

Gas! Rising prices arent good for poor college guy like me :(

I don't know about that. Certainly you could produce hydrogen using water and electrolysis. All you need is electricity - which you could get by burning oil, or, say, from a nuclear power plant.

What is your CF character wearing today?

As you can see, my character is wearing only his shame. A wanderer, he can only beg for dog food from kittens, while his girlfriend looks at him and says "why are you naked?"

    Campus Crusade for Christ Activities

Well, I'm not involved in Crusade, but some of the fun things our campus ministry has put on are: 1. The Men's ministry has a Valentine's Dinner for the ladies each year. 2. The Men's and Women's ministries periodically have bombardment for their respective genders. (It's like dodgeball with...

    Churches in St. Louis

Hi folks. I'll be moving to St. Louis soon for graduate school, specifically University City. Anyone from around there have some thoughts on churches I should check out?

Forget Global Warming - Global Dimming is here!

Have you ever heard of a day in 1780 when the sun unexplicably grew dimmer until there was darkness at noon in parts of New England? Seems like a very interesting mystery to me. It wouldn't be forgotten so easily if it occured today. "Global dimming" reminded me.

    House Endorses Moon-to-Mars Plans

That'll be quite a hefty moon base if it tries to supply its inhabitants with most of what they need for any length of time. I'm excited about the plans, though.
