    Charity to spread atheism?

Haha, when is an atheist all dressed up with nowhere to go?

    Charity to spread atheism?

I get it. You're an atheist and you disagree with the assessments put forward. That's okay, but at least let us know the basis for your disagreement.

    Charity to spread atheism?

Yup. Seen it with my own eyes.

    Charity to spread atheism?

Well, this is easy to solve. Do we still have the same kind of problems today that we had hundreds of years ago? Yep. The problem isn't a lack of sufficient technology, but rather a lack of sufficient control over concepts like greed, fear, and pride. Haha, yeah I suppose it would be a nice...

    Charity to spread atheism?

Hi CD2. Thanks for the response. I wonder, though, if Atheists really understand what they're doing. To me, it seems like atheism is as reaction against both authority and fakery at the same time. In the case of authority, most Atheists will complain about a God of love who allows so much...

Hey Juliet. Welcome to the forums. I've just said a little prayer for Rachel, and congratulations on exploring a new way of life in Christ Jesus. Welcome to the family. :)

    Anyone good with dreams?

Any time you show love or care toward others, you are pointing them in the direction of the Kingdom. That's why I phrased it as "pointing toward" rather than converting. I think God wants to guide us, but we have all our various issues that stop us from following. Keep praying that God will...

My "Do atheists understand the Bible" Challenge

Haha, I once visited an elementary school where a bunch of little kids were sitting around a garden with their hands held out and sticking up various fingers into the air. When I asked the head teacher what it was all about, he said they were being punished for running through the garden and...

My "Do atheists understand the Bible" Challenge

It's the difference between theory and application. No matter how much time you spend in a classroom, some aspects of learning just will not be there until there is some hands-on application. I can study all I want about changing the transmission in a truck, but until I actually do the job my...

My "Do atheists understand the Bible" Challenge

Well, maybe we have different ideas of what "irresistible" means, but to me it means "unable to resist". If that were the case, how could you be an atheist? You would be a Christian, unable to resist God's grace. Am I just not getting you somehow?

My "Do atheists understand the Bible" Challenge

I was also thinking about this conundrum. Certainly, a being who created time/space/matter and is able to exist outside these concepts should know what it's like to drown. But then, that was at least part of why Jesus became flesh; for God to know what it's like to be a man. But I wonder about...

My "Do atheists understand the Bible" Challenge

If the answer really was "yes", then you wouldn't be an Atheist. I don't think you have a right understanding of grace at all, then.

My "Do atheists understand the Bible" Challenge

No. If you see a hurt person on the side of the road, it does no good to explain to that person that you understand they are in need and then walk away. No. Jesus told a parable about wise and foolish people. Both people heard his teachings, but only the wise acted on them. He said to them...

    Charity to spread atheism?

Does atheism make any pretense at wanting to cure anything?

    The secret name of Jesus

Hi CR. Thanks for watching and sharing more of your thoughts. What did you think about the idea that the title is inappropriately applied to the Bible as a whole?

    I Don't Want This Cup!

Jesus was human. Perhaps that is the mystery you're searching for. He didn't want to be separated from God. He had personal desires. I don't think that is out of character.

    I Don't Want This Cup!

He didn't make that request. He said, "nevertheless, thy will be done". Sure, he asked for God to make another way if possible, but he also accepted God's will. It's not an entirely inhuman response to the thought of being separated from a loved one.
