    Question for Liberal Christians?

First, let me start by saying I do not intend to cause debate or conflict with this post. If this is not the right place for it, please tell me and I will move it. I did want answers specifically from Catholics though, which is why I am posting here. Anyway, a bit of backstory. I used to be...

    Does your denomination preach Christ-crucified?

Well yeah. That is part of the gospel.

    Does your denomination preach Christ-crucified?

We suffer on earth still as a result of sin. The gospel is that Christ paid the price for our sins so we don't have to pay for them.

    Does your denomination preach Christ-crucified?

I don't disagree necessarily but my point in my op was that we do not need to suffer to pay for our sins. Christ did that on the cross. Which is the point of the phrase "Jesus suffered so we don't have to"

    Does your denomination preach Christ-crucified?

That is a great machine gun hermeneutic. What is your point with it?

    Does your denomination preach Christ-crucified?

I know, I was just kind of taking a jab. ;) I would say depending on the denomination that argument could be made. I have certainly seen varying degrees of emphasis placed depending on where I was.

    Does your denomination preach Christ-crucified?

Protestants emphasize the crucifixion, yes that is true. But we also emphasize the resurrection! I have also heard the phrase "Jesus suffered so we don't have to" but your misinterpreting what we mean by that. It isn't that we mean that we won't have our own crosses to bear, but rather we...

    NO MORE PREACHING ON HELL

My pastor still preaches sin and repentance every Sunday.

    Seriously?

God planted us into a perfect Universe, we screwed it up.

Why does God create people knowing that they will go to Hell?

I see where you're going with this, and I think that it leads me to this question: Why did God create a world in which he foreknew Adam and Eve would eat of the fruit and cause sin to enter the world?

Why does God create people knowing that they will go to Hell?

This has always been puzzling to me. Why does He? I would prefer the answers to be from a non-Calvinistic perspective but I will take any I can get and consider them. The reason I say this is because I tend to hold a Molinist view of these things (predestination/election) but have never found...

Do pets & animals go to heaven & do they have souls?

I don't think there is a strong argument to be made for either position. I choose to believe that they do because God loves all His creations and specially made each one, and for Him to just let them die and cease to exist would be counter-intuitive to that.

These Conservative Christians Are Opposed to Trump—and Suffering the Consequences

The bottom line is that only you are claiming that it is a "Republicans only club" or that it only belongs to the politically conservative. The church is open to all and I have never met a single person who says otherwise.

Is it unChristian to be supportive of Trump?

Matthew 5:10-11 comes to mind. "Those who are persecuted for righteousness are blessed, for the kingdom of heavenl is theirs." “You are blessed when they insult and persecute you and falsely say every kind of evil against you because of Me.

These Conservative Christians Are Opposed to Trump—and Suffering the Consequences

It isn't "flavor of the month" sins. It is what is the most pressing issue today in the world that is trying to force itself even on the church. Something that is sin, is being celebrated worldwide. Premarital sex, is condemned. Lying, stealing, etc. all condemned. None of these are...

These Conservative Christians Are Opposed to Trump—and Suffering the Consequences

Do you have any evidence for these claims or is it just your opinion? I certainly don't see that in any churches around me. The point isn't "rules" the point is sin. Christ died for sinners, true 100%. HOWEVER, if someone is a homosexual and refuses to repent but says they believe in Christ...

These Conservative Christians Are Opposed to Trump—and Suffering the Consequences

The world hates the truth. Tell someone homosexuality or transgenderism is a sin, and you are a hate filled bigot. The church is about repentance, but in order to repent you must realize you are a sinner. Pay close attention to all the liberal churches that are closing in today's world...

Do you think God takes care about our sexual life

Is sex bad? No, not in the proper design of marriage it isn't. It is actually a wonderful thing then. There is something wrong with anything sexual done outside of the marriage bed. Does God get sad if we do something we are programmed for? Yes, just about everything we are programmed to...

Is water baptism a requirment to be saved

I take the position of no, and yes. No, because "faith alone." Yes, because if you claim to have saving faith and yet refuse or just "never get around" to being baptized then I start to have serious doubts about a persons salvation. I do recognize that if someone were to die before getting...

    Could Someone Explain Calvinism?

As an ex-Roman Catholic I understand the theology of the church fathers quite well. Arminian theology is partly based upon the theology of the early church fathers and is in agreement with Eastern Orthodoxy, and Eastern Catholic churches for the most part. That is all I have been saying thus...
