Why I love Catholicism yet can't be Catholic?

I really don't want to debate or hear about how I am blinded by the devil! I just had a technical question. I will continue to investigate further but it seems that my views are likely incompatible with the Church's. Thanks for the replies! All the best.

Why I love Catholicism yet can't be Catholic?

I am glad you are happy and feel you have found your way, but statistically speaking, conversion therapy and attempts to live a life as a heterosexual when one is a homosexual are very highly unsuccessful and harmful.

Why I love Catholicism yet can't be Catholic?

I more or less see this as a good thing. I think of how far humanity has come regarding matters such as slavery, women's rights, racism, and so on. Change is sometimes, albeit not always, a good thing.

Why I love Catholicism yet can't be Catholic?

Believe me when I say that my views derive not merely from people's feelings (although much could be said about the statistics regarding suicide, depression, addiction and homelessness due in no small part to the beliefs that homosexuality is "disordered" and same sex romantic relationships are...

Why I love Catholicism yet can't be Catholic?

I understand, but for the record, I did not come to debate against teachings of the Church. And although not practicing currently, I am officially a member of the Catholic Church... at least I think so.

Why I love Catholicism yet can't be Catholic?

I love the Catholic Church. When I arrived at my local parish 4 or 5 years ago, having spent several years as an Orthodox Christian, I felt welcome and at home. I love the simple services. I love Catholic art. I feel stable having the apostolic history of the Church. I love daily services. I...

Is Canadian Anglicanism a good fit?

Greetings, Former Orthodox and lapsed Catholic here. Frankly, I've had it with dogmas and doctrines being held as more important than one's own spiritual growth in God. I am an ally of LGBTQ and have absolutely had it with the weird Catholic and overall Christian fixation on peoples' sexuality...

    Confession/Communion question

Well, I am afraid that, following decades of reading, exploring, seeking meaning, and trying on various faiths, I have somewhat reluctantly defaulted back to atheism.

    Why do animals do suffer?

Here's a concern of mine regarding the suffering of animals: the Fall could not have happened literally in the way the Bible tells us it did. This we know because of all of the evidence for a billions of years old earth, and the gradual evolution of biological species, with each individual...

    Confession/Communion question

And yes, your assumption regarding many Catholics communing without confessing seems to me to be true. In fact, my neighbour, a lifelong Catholic, communes quite regularly, and he told me recently that he has never been to confession! I would not be comfortable doing so, however.

    Confession/Communion question

There is certainly more to it than just one issue. But I do appreciate your concern and advice on this.
