    Help with Mom

Joey, In my bible it's chapter 12 not 13 but then I'm Catholic mmchaz, I work with the mentally ill and I used to work with the severely mentally ill and would do so in a heartbeat if I had the chance. In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with faith healing but make no mistake, that...

    Can't sleep

I tried Abilify and it was a complete disaster. One pill and I thought I was going to die. I use Seroquel to sleep and its been working great for about ten years. Of course everyone is different. It's generic now under the name Quietipine.

My rant about my obsession (long)

The only person I've known who had an obsession like the one you describe had a personality disorder and was well treated with medications and therapy. She shows up to my bipolar support group regularly and she seems to be quite happy although she has great difficulty having a stable...

    Fresh Rosemary

I LOVE the idea of rosemary ice tea. I'll definitely have to give it a try. Can't do a farmers market. I'm in the Sonoran Desert. No farmers. No fresh produce at all as a matter of fact. Everything is shipped in from either California, Washington or Idaho.

    Fresh Rosemary

I love the idea of stuffing the whole cavity. I thought about giving to people at church but that's still a lot of rosemary to give away. One of my friends suggested Craig's List and just do a take-it-or-leave-it under the title "I have some herb to give away" :)

    Can sociopaths find Jesus?

Retire? Not a chance. He took full retirement from law enforcement before he even got to AZ. He's doing this for fun. Oh, and that stay in Tent City? It was for his DWI.

    Can sociopaths find Jesus?

I believe it. I met him a couple times. He used to go to the St. Geinero (sp?) festival in Peoria near my house. He had a booth and anyone could go up and talk to him. He's a bully, plain and simple. There's no two ways about it. But he was a bully at the right time, in the right place...

    Can sociopaths find Jesus?

That's a powerful story DB. I'd love to know what happens to him. I suspect there is a jail cell with his name on it and then he'll get to know Sheriff Joe. I do have one issue with your post, however: I LIVE IN ARIZONA!

Brain Chemistry, Mental Illness, Addictions, and Spirituality

OP: I'm bipolar NOS (Not Otherwise Specified) which means I'm so crazy I don't fit into any of the categories. My manias last about 5 seconds and the best way I can describe them is a mental [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]. Before I started taking meds I had about 30 of them a day. For me, it's a purely biochemical...

    Fresh Rosemary

Every year about this time I commit a crime of massive proportions. I have 4 rosemary bushes that I trim back every spring and I end up with two 13 gallon trash bags full of fresh rosemary that I put in the trashcan. I love to cook and I'm just sick about it. Yes, we use a quarter cup here...

    Can sociopaths find Jesus?

I can't take away that pain. What you say is true. For what its worth, we live in a society in which our prisons are filled with sociopaths and nihilists and thats a very good thing. Our society actively looks for those personality profiles. A sociopath can't let down their guard because...

    Can sociopaths find Jesus?

A United States Marine is required to be a sociopath. That is their job description. They must be prepared to kill and destroy without conscience and not only feel no remorse but feel glee for having done so. A high percentage come back from that.

Let us live in joyful PRAISE, incldg. staff

I just felt the need to praise everyone who makes this board possible. I found my faith as a teenager in a non-denominational group, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. We celebrated what we had in common rather than be divided by what we didn't. The vibe was unbelievable and I've always...

    Seroquel??

I gain weight with Seroquel too but I always attributed it to the fact that I was asleep for 5 extra hours instead of burning calories.

    Cyclothymia and being a Christian

I'm bipolar and the last time I was suicidal was about two weeks ago and I finally decided to off myself as I was brushing my teeth in my 3000 sq ft house which has 4 bathrooms for just me and my wife and I was brushing my teeth with a $150 electric toothbrush. Mental illness is irrational...

    Can sociopaths find Jesus?

I work with the mentally ill so I see more than my share of sociopaths. A sociopath has no conscience. A true sociopath feels no remorse torturing pets. Yes, they can come back from it but they have to want it--real, real bad. He may simply be a misogynist, a woman hater, and thats totally...

    Seroquel??

I'm bipolar and I've taken Seroquel for about six years give or take. Long before it went generic. The problem is some people (like myself) have a sensitivity to it. If you have that sensitivity, the prescribed minimum dose is about five times what you need. I take a pediatric dose (50mg)...

    Just in need to chat

I REALLY have to agree with you here. My wife and I did the same thing about 20 years ago. Are there major mistakes made? Absolutely. Is it tough to work things out? Absolutely. Do you sacrifice part of yourself to make it work? Yes. But in the end there is a new emotion that you...

I just found out I'm Bipolar

I'm bipolar and I run a bipolar support group. Depakote will help you manage the ups and downs. There are other medications if Depakote doesn't work for you (I take Lamictal) but ultimately when its a brain chemistry issue it frequently comes down to what side effects can you live with...
