I don't remember David having issues resulting from polygamy. Lust, yes, but not polygamy. God even told David that if he gave multiple wives t him, and if wanted "more", he would've given them to him (2 Samuel 12:8).

Here's the verse Jesus quoted: "Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh." (Gen 2:24, NKJV). No mention of "two". So either Jesus misquoted that verse, or the the Bible just isn't clear on polygamy.
