Feeling burnt out on life at age 32.

Oh boy, do I understand where you're coming from. For almost entirely different contexts, you and me are speaking the same language. First, God is great. I believe this, and not in the ra-ra cheerleader way. Ive seen his greatness. Ive lived through it. He has lifted me up amidst life's turmoil...

Prayer for a job search/faith act...

My college called me yesterday and offered a 1-year extension on my Instructor line! Thank God for his provision.

Prayer for a job search/faith act...

I have some important meetings this week for varying opportunities. I ask for prayers of favor, of grace, and for guidance as I'm at a crossroads. I feel lost. I'm not sure why.

Actor/Actresses that ruin a movie for you?

You know how you're watching a bad Nic Cage movie? Nic Cage is in it!

Prayer for a job search/faith act...

Process is finalized: no offer, search failed. I'm also no longer guaranteed to teach in a renewed instructor line. God is moving. Just not sure of the specifics.

Prayer for a job search/faith act...

I'm not new to the forum, but it's been a while. The last time I was here was for a job search. God miraculously provided for a year in a half. I'm at the end of a search process. Once again God miraculously opened doors. But now the last one appears shut. I'm a university instructor. In...

Faith Tebow’s Win In Biblical Terms — Stats Match His Favorite Verse, John 3:16

People mistake Tebow's thanks to God as a causal reaction to a win. It's not. He begins every press conference, win or lose, with Thanks to his "Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ" as he's thankful for his salvation. It has nothing to do with football, except being from a football player. If a pastor...

Faith Tebow’s Win In Biblical Terms — Stats Match His Favorite Verse, John 3:16

I think it was Ephesians 2:8-9 I think he wore it after he started receiving all this praise for being such a good person.

Faith Tebow’s Win In Biblical Terms — Stats Match His Favorite Verse, John 3:16

Where's the connection to Matthew, though :) Yes. I'm sure it's all coincidental. Was still cool to see the 316 references last week after Tebow's eyeblack John 3:16 message from college.

Faith Tebow’s Win In Biblical Terms — Stats Match His Favorite Verse, John 3:16

Not at all. You have to understand the greater context. Jesus was criticizing the religious leaders who'd stand and proclaim their prayers to heaven, using excessive and eloquent verbosity to receive acclaim from men. Jesus wants the act of prayer to have meaning, to be a solemn and sincere...

Faith Tebow’s Win In Biblical Terms — Stats Match His Favorite Verse, John 3:16

That's an interesting interpretation. Can't speak for Jesus, but the point of that passage to me seemed to be about sincerity, not public profession. He said "as hypocrites do" signifying they pray for the glory without meaning it. By this interpretation any person praying in public is subject...

Faith Tebow’s Win In Biblical Terms — Stats Match His Favorite Verse, John 3:16

He's experienced with a system that holds very little relevance to his current standing in the NFL. He was a spread-option QB from HS through college. He doesn't have pro-style experience. I will compare situations and not players, because neither player is exactly alike, but Alex Smith came...

Faith Tebow’s Win In Biblical Terms — Stats Match His Favorite Verse, John 3:16

Tebow's only one of the worst QB's in the league because he's very young and inexperienced, especially within a pro system. Any determination made at the moment beyond that Tebow's done enough to get an extended look, additional coaching, and the most reps with first team come training camp is...

What movies don't you like that almost everyone else does?

I can. Donna Reed! The movie is one I'll watch every once in a while, but not one I can take every year.

What movies don't you like that almost everyone else does?

Ya know, Moneyball is a flick that is largely praised by critics, widely loved by fans and a movie I thought was trite, overly-sentimental and inaccurate in depicting the real significance of the story. It wasn't a bad movie, but I could care less if I ever see it again.

Faith Tebow’s Win In Biblical Terms — Stats Match His Favorite Verse, John 3:16

It was amazing how many times the numbers 316 kept popping up. Total yards passing (316), average yards passing (31.6), overall TV ratings (31.6), Interception by Denver (came on 3rd and 16) and time of possession for Steelers (31 minutes, 6 seconds).

    Best & Worst Band Names

One of my favorite's is Days Of The New. Another is Rage Against The Machine. One of my least favorites is Mother Love Bone, despite the fact I love the band. Never ever wanted to mention them by name. One of the worst ever is Goo Goo Dolls. Just an unspeakably bad name. Not sure if meant to...

Can't wait to see next week's games! So many great ones. NFC is All-Time offenses in the Packers and Saints vs. very good defenses playing at elite levels in the Giants and the 49ers, and the AFC is the epic rematch of Broncos vs. Patriots and two really good defenses and running games in Ravens...

    Inception

It's not my favorite movie. I don't have the emotional or cathartic connection with this film as I have with others, but this film is certainly one of the best films I've seen. Saw it three times in three straight days when it first came out. The final scenes are absolutely brilliant. Couldn't...
