Dangers of the Occult, New Age, and Paganism

Haha, i'll say 18 years since I was raised in it from Birth ;)

Dangers of the Occult, New Age, and Paganism

Imagine the uproar if we went to OBOB and said the exact same thing...... It really bugs me that some Christians think it's their god given right to slander other faiths because they believe theirs is the only true one. Ave, I was a Catholic, I am now a Solitary Eclectic Pagan. I actually...

Fellow Pagans, what are your plans for Imbolc?

Just wondering what you all have planned for this Sabbat? I don't really have much planned. I'm just thinking of holding a little ritual, say some prayers to the Goddess Brighid, ask for her guidance and protection in the coming year, dedicate myself to studying the Wicca: Year and a day...

    Pagan gods and idols

Even though it is quite obvious that the OP is trying to troll, I will nevertheless give my brief opinion on this matter. There are some, who by use of their gifts, i.e mediumship, clairvoyance, Clairsentience, Clairaudience and empathy etc, have professed to actually have conversations with...

Why are Abrahamic religions so quick to condemn Poly/Pantheistic religions as Satanic

I have pretty much come to the conclusion that it depends entirely on the person you ask, or the denomination you ask. Answers are very different. But, i'd rather people talk about the intended discussion of this thread.

Are we even on the Original topic anymore?

    Happy St. Patrick's Weekend !

Went to the St Patricks Parade in Birmingham last Sunday! Loads of little old Irish ladies and their pints. Made me giggle XD

Why are Abrahamic religions so quick to condemn Poly/Pantheistic religions as Satanic

Yes, I believe it is man made, but I have no problem with following a certain tradition that helps me to be closer to deity. Wicca was man made and I know that. It seems tome you are actually incapable of reading. If you could read, you would know that I said "Wicca and Christianity are no...

Why are Abrahamic religions so quick to condemn Poly/Pantheistic religions as Satanic

For the last time, I am not being rebellious! I have no need to rebel against something I do not believe in. Please do not assume you know how I was raised. My family did not raise me to be religious. My dad was baptised Anglican and is now an Atheist, my mom was baptised Catholic and is now...

Why are Abrahamic religions so quick to condemn Poly/Pantheistic religions as Satanic

Actually, I was Catholic. I've expressed that I DO think there are things wrong with Christianity, however i've also expressed that I do not believe that there is only one way to commune with the devine. I believe what is right for a person, is right end of. That goes for Christians, Muslims...

Why are Abrahamic religions so quick to condemn Poly/Pantheistic religions as Satanic

Well lucky for me, Aquinas was a mere man. It was not God that devised that argument. We study Aquinas at college and he does have a good and valid point, but it's not scripture. I don't see what is wrong with saying "I don't believe what you believe is wrong," and "An Ye Harm None, Do What...

Why are Abrahamic religions so quick to condemn Poly/Pantheistic religions as Satanic

Facts are subject to those interpreting them. I don't accept what you are saying as fact. Satanism and Wicca are two different forms of worship with theological differences. Wicca does not recognise a specific evil entity. We believe everything has loving and cruel aspects. Nature and humans can...

Why are Abrahamic religions so quick to condemn Poly/Pantheistic religions as Satanic

You're entitled to that belief. I don't feel a duty to others. I wouldn't seek to harm another except in self defence. I believe that religion is a spiritual journey to find the true meaning of everything, not to help other people. Of course we can help others, it is our free will, but it's not...

Why are Abrahamic religions so quick to condemn Poly/Pantheistic religions as Satanic

Seems you are ignoring other things I said in earlier posts. If you care to check, I said that a core belief of Wicca is "Do what ye will and harm ye none". In other words, do what you want as long as you harm none. I think you should read my posts carefully before you start to twist things I say.

Why are Abrahamic religions so quick to condemn Poly/Pantheistic religions as Satanic

Very much my own personal beliefs. I feel that worshipping deity should be something to enjoy, not something you should do even if you hate what this particular belief encompasses. The legalism of the Church was too much for me and the lack of feminine aspects was a big turning point for me...

Why are Abrahamic religions so quick to condemn Poly/Pantheistic religions as Satanic

Well firstly, because it is a more ancient faith than the Abrahamic religions, so instantly they drew me. But also because, I believe life comes from the female gender. In Christianity, although God is a genderless spirit, God is generally referred to as a masculine entity that created life. I...

Why are Abrahamic religions so quick to condemn Poly/Pantheistic religions as Satanic

Well if you read my other post, you will see that I said that I can't answer my own question as I was never hostile towards Pagans when I was a Christian.

Thank you for that great and serious answer. I really do like your way of thinking and only wish other Christians were like you. Alas, you are only a minority in what I have experienced so far. Who knows, maybe more friendly christians will pop up sometime.

Why are Abrahamic religions so quick to condemn Poly/Pantheistic religions as Satanic

Well unlike you, I haven't been through so many religions. It's always been the two. Christianity and Paganism. Sure I flirted with Protestantism whilst a Christian, but that is still Christianity.

Why are Abrahamic religions so quick to condemn Poly/Pantheistic religions as Satanic

While I did like being Catholic, being raised my whole life as one, there was always something missing for me. I did not make the decision to change my religion likely, it's been a re-occurring feeling for years. To cut a long story short, I did not like the absence of a female god aspect in...
