This may sound odd but my learned techniques are blues and rock. The other musicians on my worship team have accused me of sounding bluegrass or country on more than one occaision. Maybe I should persue that style. Any suggestions of where to start?

If you are singing with the church then you are on the worship team.

That is the idea. Leading worship means just that and who said the focus was not on God. It is not my aim to show the how to focus on themselves or the worship team. What would be your alternate solution?

It's good to see many types of instruments. I've been playing at guitar for over 40 years and that lends me to understand other instruments ( piano, bass, and drums ). I can play them but I'm more at ease with the guitar.

The thing about being on a worship team is your on display, like it or not. No thing is evil of itself but it causes your brother to fall don't display it. A good wah wah can make you sound like a better player than what you are though. It's a judgment call.
