    Religious disagreements

I loved that the clergy were trained in Hebrew and Greek. I loved the structure of the church. I loved the small size. I love the structure. I love the planting. There is so much to love that it is in my heart now.

    Religious disagreements

Hi, I posted about converting before. We had attended the ELCA church for 14 yrs. We started attending the PCA church last year in the summer. Last time we went was March. Recently, I tried the PCUSA, it was not a fit for me. I went on and went back to the ELCA church. My dh says he is ok...

People are encouraged to be tolerant of Muslims????

I am not tolerant of Muslims. I do not like them. Ok, I tolerate them, I have to. It is the law. But I wish they would all go away. Ironically, I was attending a small very conservative church over the last year. They were doing some sort of church without walls program where they would try to...

    Baby boy Baptism Jewelry?

Maybe it was just a family tradition then. I had a bracelet. I gave my son a ring. My daughter got a cross necklace. It has been that sort of thing. I know my mom had a bracelet too. Oh, my daughter was given a bracelet, but I had her wear mine. Her bracelet came as a gift but arrived after the...

    time to part

You are not Baptised in to the Lutheran church but rather in to being with God and Christianity. At least, that is how the ELCA church here does it.

    time to part

See, this kind of remark is not a debate, it is just an insult. No one here has a claim on Luther or a claim on God or Jesus. Remarks like this are just said with the purpose of insulting.

    time to part

I see a lot of posts along the lines of "your so wrong, you must be ELCA" or other such insults. I do not see much debating. Maybe a separate religious debate board would be good for those who wish to debate. But there is a big difference between debating and just insulting.

    Baby boy Baptism Jewelry?

Since the baby is being Baptised the next week (not this Sunday but the next) I am wondering what jewelry is traditional or any of you have done? My oldest son had a baby ring. Is a baby ring traditional? At the store, a lady working there told me it was tradition for baby boys to wear cross...

    time to part

I emailed the mods when I was first here to suggest that a separate board be established for the ELCA and their in communion churches. These are listed on the ELCA website. I know this includes United Church of Christ, PCUSA, Episcopal, United Methodist, Moravian, and one other. They have a lot...

    Clarification on my "nasty" opinion

No, it was not LCMS and the contract with the pastor was a coterm and the other 2 pastors had left to their next duties basically.

    Clarification on my "nasty" opinion

That is what they did, they ate the pastor alive pretty much. There was a senior pastor whose term was up and the church had hired a new pastor. But the old pastor did not want to leave so he and his wife and their clique gossiped and ripped that pastor to shreds. They also did horrible...

    Clarification on my "nasty" opinion

Seajoy asked me to make a post clarifying what I said about people here being nasty nasty nasty and my being told not to bother with "Lutheran" churches.... I tried to be very vague in that post about the Lutheran church because I had little desire to post which synod I used to be with...

The ELCA's Terrible Defense of Their Correct Positions

My opinion on when life begins...I don't care who agrees with me. But I respect everyone else's right to their opinion...... I have had a few miscarriages and 2 babies die. I have heard of a stillborn baby being referred to as soulless, as if there was never a soul. I think there was. My...

Do we exist before we are conceived?

Thing about it is, people on this thread are hateful and nasty. As to if I am ELCA, I have actually been church searching and not attending any Lutheran Church at all. I had heard to stay away from the Lutheran Churches because they can be hateful and spiteful and certainly not the values I want...

Do we exist before we are conceived?

I do not have any interest in any part of the ugly nastiness on this board.

Thinking of converting, PCA vs PCUSA?

My dh was Catholic. He has no interest in being Catholic. But, his parents and family HATE protestants and repeatedly tell me they do. The PCA church was very nice and people talked to us a lot and it was involved. I felt like DH needed to be there with me as it was very family oriented with...

Thinking of converting, PCA vs PCUSA?

I am Lutheran but thinking of converting to a Presbyterian church. We have attended a PCA church since last year until March when my DH said it was not for him. The children and I agreed that we did like a lot of what we learned about Presbyterian church and loved how educated and knowledgable...

Do we exist before we are conceived?

Do we exist before we are conceived is not a question affected by ones belief that abortion is ok or not. You cannot abort a baby before conception (unless you believe birth control does that by not allowing a pregnancy to happen in the first place). I believe that God knew us before we were...
