    CS Lewis Psalter

Thanks you so much for the link and the information. I'll see if I know someone who has access to the journal.

    CS Lewis Psalter

It was reading about the ACNA psalter where I heard about the Lewis (et al) psalter. I think they saw themselves as following on from Lewis but I don't know how much they leant on that revision.

    CS Lewis Psalter

I'm not sure how I've never heard of this before, but I read last night that CS Lewis and TS Eliot were involved in a complete revision of the psalter in 1963. For some reason it never really gained traction in the CofE. I've trained to find a copy online, or even a copy for sale but haven't...

    Praying the Daily Office ...

What's it like? I've always in been interested but it's struck me as a little complicated to use?

    Praying the Daily Office ...

I use the ACNA 2019 BCP. As Church of England I should probably use Common Worship, but I think the ACNA is just inspired. Plus I don't like using the Common Worship app, whereas the ACNA office site allows you to precisely select the options you want. The Daily Office | Morning and Evening...

    Church openings during covid

Thanks guys, it's really interesting - and to a certain extent encouraging - to hear how churches around the world are responding. I've found that I've been getting frustrated about a few things on a local level about church closures etc. and there's something very helpful about being reminded...

    Church openings during covid

I'm just wondering how covid is impacting Anglicans around the world. In the UK, in the midst of this new strain, Anglican churches are coming under a lot of pressure to close, especially those in the south of the country that are hardest hit. I'm interested in what the situation is like in the...

Episcopal church marriages down 66% since 2003

There was some research done a few years ago on marriages in the Church of England, and one statistic that really struck me was that a huge number of couples felt that the church wasn't taking their wedding as seriously as they were. (Sorry, I can't remember the actual data!). Now obviously, to...

"For all the saints" daily prayer

Hi all, I've been reading a little about the lutheran four volume set on daily prayer - for all the saints - and think that it might just be what I'm after. However it's very difficult to find too much information about it online or even some samples of the pages. Does any here use it? I'm...

The Canterbury Alehouse (25) - He died that we may live - alleluia

Oh I'd find that hard. We don't really get much hear, but nothing beats that childish flurry of excitement whenever snow starts to fall. (Though maybe that's just because of associations with the hope growing up of having a day of school!)

The Canterbury Alehouse (25) - He died that we may live - alleluia

An increasing number have chaplains and the CofE is really pushing it and investing in it at the moment. Ultimately, if young people aren't coming to church then the place we're going to have to meet them is in schools. It's currently not a teaching role - I focus on pastoral support, leading...

The Sign of the Cross and Anglicanism

Of course the sign of the cross isn't new, but it is as a feature of Anglican worship (probably with the exception of the priest making it during the baptism service.)

The Canterbury Alehouse (25) - He died that we may live - alleluia

Golly, that's a lot of life in a few lines! How are you doing? I remember you and this whole forum with immense fondness. Being part of this community was a hugely significant part of my discernment and it's so lovely to be back.

The Canterbury Alehouse (25) - He died that we may live - alleluia

Hey Naomi, didn't think you'd remember me! Long story cut short - ordained in 2011 and had a wonderful curacy, followed by a hugely challenging first incumbancy, which led to me taking a bit of a step back and am currently the chaplain of a large state CofE secondary school. Also got married 4...

The Sign of the Cross and Anglicanism

I disagree. Making the sign of the cross for me as an important part of my worship, but I acknowledge that it's an innovation as far as Anglican worship is concerned. Of course there's always innovation in worship (and most of the time that should be encouraged), but for the vast majority of...
