Winning the battle in our thought life. Is it even possible?

:amen: - typically I don't read long posts, but this one is good. My first thought after reading the title was: yes - as surely as turning on the light overcomes the darkness, Words overcome Thoughts. I know that this is easy enough to grasp, but it is perhaps the most significant & challenging...

How can I go back to church after years of absence?

I'd say get there early and sit on the front row ;)

our babies and children what happens at judgement?

First off, good thread. It's one of those questions that seems rather challenging to answer. Just a thought:

God Doesn’t Remember How Bad You Were

:amen: I just recently had this conversation with a Roman Catholic friend of mine.

    “should We Fear The Lord?”

The OT scriptures were originally in Hebrew, correct? Just to make sure nothing is lost in translation, I pulled the Hebrew definition/translation of fear in that scripture:

    Prosperity and Pastors

Just a thought, but rather than focusing on making sure pastors don't get too much, shouldn't the focus be on helping all God's children be rich? If the Blessing of the Lord maketh rich, why shouldn't all God's children be blessed? And if pastors are being foolish with their money, didn't God...

    Prosperity and Pastors

Read it again  . I suppose if you're agreeing that some rich pastors run great Christian founded businesses, and that is good - but there are some that run businesses just to make cash ( and they love money rather than people ), and that is wrong, I completely agree. :)

    Prosperity and Pastors

So, is business unbiblical? Are we bad stewards if we multiply our money? Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are rich preachers who have inappropriate motives. But could we agree that there may be rich preachers who have big businesses, and they might possibly be doing what God wants them to do?

    Prosperity and Pastors

Also, the blessing of the Lord it maketh rich and addeth no sorrow. Why is money such a big issue - shouldn't it be the pastor's heart & mind that we take into consideration? What's wrong with using the things God has provided - especially if they allow you to get people? Different people are...

    Tithe- Churches

Of course you don't have to tithe, and you shouldn't feel you are required to. However, for me, when I started to understand the tithe, I wanted to tithe: Who wouldn't want that? Moreover, I don't want to steal from God: Taking something that isn't yours to take, something God told you not to...

    About Heaven...

I'm exited about when sin is completely gone - think about it, people being born into a sin-free existence. We'll be those people from back when the War was still going on.

Homosexuality a curse given by God?

@Houseperish If you feel like noone truly loves you, please remember that I do. My heart would be filled with sorrow if your life ended with suicide. Since this is an online forum, I'm not sure how I can show my sincerity, but please don't take my words lightly.

    Christianity a joke?

 Does that mean that you don't proclaim youself to be a Christian, and you want EVERYTHING to do with sin? Also, I'm curious as to how many Christians you're talking to in order to come to all these hefty conclusions.

    Its all so confusing

If Adam hadn't messed things up, no humans would go to hell. However, the reason you were damned to hell was because of what the first Adam did, and the reason you can go to Heaven is because of what the second Adam did.

    Realizations....

Though it's not the ideal situation, check out the thieves that were crucified with Jesus. Realize, one of them was saved.

    How To Forget about sins...

Now that sounds like a man who is conquering sin-consciousness :) . Since I am a young, single Christian male, I'll take a prayer for the casting down of sexual lust/temptation. (also, if I might ask a rhetorical question: How do handle forgiving others? Do you offer forgivingness...

    Realizations....

First off, a BIG AMEN to EazyMac's post. Please realize that faith and fear are opposites, and both attract to themselves what they are directed at. Now, the righteous shall live by faith. You have to make the choice not to live by the substance of things you don't hope for. You can accomplish...

    Realizations....

You must realize: That man died. The wages of sin are death - which means the price has already been paid - by Jesus (you may want to study a Blood Covenant to see exactly what Jesus gave you). In actuality, living in sin-consciousness is belittling what Jesus did on the Cross.
