    Adiaphora Alehouse (10)

I just had to swing by. I was in Ohio and on the beer list was Yuengling. I thought of CF and couldn't turn down the opportunity. Oh. Delicious. I understand now. :-)

    From Catholic To Lutheran

Mainly the views on the Eucharist. I've always looked at the Eucharist from a Catholic perspective and found it "easier" to understand and believe than the Lutheran perspective.

Anglicans, do you see yourselves as more Protestant, or more Catholic?

I need to read Blue Like Jazz again. What a great reminder.

    From Catholic To Lutheran

Where I liked the social views of the ELCA, I didn't agree with theology, to be as concise as possible. The Episcopal church has the values I strive to live and the theology I can buy in to.

    Pro-Abortion?

I see a lot of elephant icons around here. So...you want a government just small enough to fit inside my uterus? Is this it?

    Hello All

Let's resurrect a thread! I am alive and very well. I was received into the Episcopal church this past May (my particular parish is more Anglo-Catholic leaning, which I actually love). I have truly found a home. Thanks to everyone here who pushed me, whether you realized you did, or not. I hope...

    From Catholic To Lutheran

I ditched. I was ELCA for 26 years. I recently converted to Episcopalian. But if I had to choose between the two...I'd suck it up and stay ELCA. Too much in the RC I can't accept.

Anglicans, do you see yourselves as more Protestant, or more Catholic?

I consider myself to be Anglo-Catholic/Emerging Catholic. So, I look at Anglicanism as being more Catholic like than Protestant like.

    Life or Death

That's like saying an egg is a chicken. Have you tried to hard boil a chicken? Results aren't that great. And eggs make terrible hot wings.

    Ash Wednesday

I went to Mass with a coworker over lunch (I haven't made it to the Anglican church in town yet...it's on my Lenten to-do list) and we both left ashes on the rest of the day. Minus one coworker who was quite confused, (Him: "Uh...you have something on your head" Me: "I know" Him: "...OH NO it's...

What is your typical Sabbath day like?

Let's see. I get up and go to work. If it's slow, I take off from work and go to mass. If it's not slow, I stay at work until early evening. And then I take time to journal (working on a prayer journal) and go to bed.

A few questions...cross post from OBOB

I have been exploring my views versus Catholicism and they mostly line up. The things I have the biggest problem with are "life" (I believe in natural birth to natural death as being life, where apparently it is conception to natural death) and homosexuality being a sin. Should these things...

If There Are No Kneelers, Is It a Catholic Church?

When I was Lutheran, I remember being shocked at two different Lutheran churches I went to (both ELCA) had kneelers. I actually preferred those. The campus Lutheran church had kneelers attached to the back of the individual chairs. Often when I needed a quite place to go and reflect I would go...

    How's your winter?

My folks live in North Dakota (I'm in MN). They have no snow, and I hardly have any. It was in the 40s today...strangest January weather I can ever remember.
