To yourself. What purpose? To try and discover if what you are believing is correct or not. I am someone who needs to know that I am believing as many truths as possible and disbelieving as many untruths as possible.

So would a christian who is adhering to what was once considered to be morally correct (as morality is a cultural construct) say a couple of centuries ago, be considered to be christian today for doing acts which are now considered immoral? Christians can be moral and immoral, like an atheist...
