    So lonely, so alone

I'm so sad, so lonely. Two years ago next Monday (20th) I lost the love of my life. I long for companionship. But Mike's only been gone 2 years. I feel very guilty for needing someone to be there for me. I loved Mike with all my heart. I still do. But no one has hugged me in 2 years. (My kids...

Is there anyone here who can interpret tongues?

Everyone with the Holy Spirit has every gift. The actual gift is the Spirit Himself. While some gifts are more natural to the believer's personality, while others are more uncomfortable to them, He is able to manifest any gift through you, if you are obedient and faithful. If God wants someone...

Did Paul lose ability to heal as time went on?

Paul never had the ability to heal. God chose to heal some through Paul. But it was not an ability that he ever personally had or controlled.

Can the Holy Spirit make you shiver? Or is shaking just psychological?

Don't have time to read all the replies, but in my own case, any trembling, shaking, falling down, etc. was my sinful body reacting to a direct touch of a holy God. God didn't cause it directly, but His presence made my physical body react.

    Cleaning House --- Seriously

Your "Before" looks a whole lot better than my "after!" I have a lot of gifts from God. Housekeeping is not one of them. Mom was a horder, and I never learned. Even now in my 50s, I struggle with even the basic cleaning routines.

Why do all believers connected with "tongues".....

Please do not lump all Pentecostals in with the idiots on TV. There's not one of them worth the powder it would take to blow them up, as my dad used to say. Yes, speaking in tongues is real. Yes it is from God. And yes, OF COURSE Satan and his followers imitate it. It is not a highly important...

Why do all believers connected with "tongues".....

I believed OSAS my whole life, until I started studying, when I went to seminary (only in the past 12 years or so). Romans 11:19-22 Then you will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast...

God as much of a woman as a man

God the Father is Spirit. But even setting that aside, think like a Hebrew. Elohim (the common title for God the Father) is plural - and can be males, females, or a mixed group. Jesus was and is, of course, male. The noun, Ruach HaKedosh, the Holy Spirit, is a feminine noun. God is neither...

Why do all believers connected with "tongues".....

The Church of God, Cleveland TN also believes both of these. I am an ordained minister with that denomination. What exactly would anyone like to know?

    Study question for all

What does taking up our cross have to do with the question. I'm confused.

    Study question for all

IMO, the 24 elders are the 12 sons of Israel and the 12 apostles - the 11 faithful ones and Paul. I think that Jesus took Paradise to heaven. He told the thief, "Today, you will be with me in paradise." So the thief went to paradise. But Jesus took the OT saints to heaven with him. So paradise...

    Reaping what we sow

Hey, good to be back. I lost my computer, and by the time I got another one, I was working 50 hours a week, and just forgot about the forums. But I'll be around!!

Asking myself what I'm getting out of all this

In all the years I've been Pentecostal, I have NEVER heard anything that remotely implied that God is a jerk. You've had some bad church examples. Also, emotions will lie to you. You cannot trust emotions. Sometimes you have to believe as an act of will. Perhaps since you have the bipolar...

    Questions about suicidal people

When someone comes to me feeling like this, my first impulse is to help them. Honestly, I would cry out to God, and ask Him to give me the same level of love and compassion for these people as God has given you. If you cannot forgive others, then God will not forgive you. Similarly, if you...

    Speaking in Tongues

I spoke in tongues having never heard it or been in a Pentecostal church. And there is a "speaking in tongues" that is referring to a speaking of a heavenly language. Not all tongues is of a known human language. Paul refers to it several times. However, one of the sweetest, most Christ-like...

    Reaping what we sow

Yes. When others complain (or I do - sometimes I have to remind myself!) about the messes they are having to go through, I try to remind them that God plows up the hardened ground; then He pulls weeds; and throws out rocks for His seed to have good soil - but one thing more is needed for good...

    "Christian"

I always understood the word "Christian" being a derisive word meaning "small Christ."
