For The Orthodox Faithful Who Are Confused About Covid Vaccines: Orthodox Talks

No worries. I shouldn't have poked my head in this thread. Nothing good can come of it.

For The Orthodox Faithful Who Are Confused About Covid Vaccines: Orthodox Talks

Ahem. I do. And I stand behind my hierarch. I feel like a complete outsider on a site I've been visiting for 16? years.

    CF “security” and “captchas”

Well yes, unfortunately. I would second Andrei's suggestion.

Indian villagers/tribal people react to "Agni Parthene"

Written? I thought it was given to him by Panagia herself.

    CF “security” and “captchas”

I think it's because you're in Russia, rus. Too bad VPNs are illegal; it's the only fix I can think of.

[ORTHODOX subforum!] Questions from Sunday School

This is presumption. God will have mercy upon whom He wills. But it is certainly God's will that we all belong to His Church! The soul needs the Holy Mysteries like the body needs air. God gives us His grace through the Holy Mysteries. Our God is a God of paradoxes. We ask these questions and...

Orthodox intercession to the Holy Righteous King David

Chant the Psalter. If you get the HTM version, there is a prayer to King David at the beginning! I'm not sure if it's kosher to type it out here. (Mods?)

    Etiquette for monastery?

Oooooh great thread! I was thinking about going to New Gracanica with my mom soon, and I can have her read this!

I can vouch for Ostrov. I've seen it a dozen times. Great film.

    Quick Mods r busy

Well here's mine. I'm an oddity... mine has actually gotten much smaller over the years, what with moving half a dozen times in the past five years...

    Blasphemous thoughts?

I went through a period where even Divine Liturgy was difficult to get through, I was so distracted by thoughts like these. It passes. Endure and don'r stop praying.

I take it you know from experience? That must be frustrating.

    Damack and Dyer

That would be really useful. I know just enough Greek and Russian to pick apart some of the titles and know I want to watch them, but I don't understand either language spoken so if the translation isn't good, I'm up the creek.

Most of the Orthodox videos I watch on YouTube have comments that mostly aren't in English, haha. But that's music. I've found a few channels I've liked. And Facebook... ew. I use it for family and friends and a few animal groups. Absolutely nothing else.

    Old Orthodox Prayer Book

Thank you! I've had a chance to look through it a bit, and it's not nearly as different from modern praxis as I had imagined.

    Old Orthodox Prayer Book

I just ordered the new edition of the Old Orthodox Prayer Book. I'm excited! I'm just curious, for those who have it, do you alter the prescriptions of prayers to fit with modern Orthodox practice, or do you read exactly what's in there? Is it even permissible to use the old ways in private...

Just a fun thread. What are y’all watching?

House M.D. (his silly arguments against God are amusingly obtuse), Star Trek TNG, Scrubs.

    Frequency of confession

Well, I'm in ROCOR, but my priest does not want me confessing weekly. We had a long chat. Everyone's right; this really is a very individual thing, and the question betrayed my misunderstanding of what confession is for.
