Science textbooks are always correct and infallib...

Don't even play this game. We could end it here by saying that humans can and do lie, but that doesn't negate the credibility of an entire organization, or I could list all the terrible things the Catholic church has done, never mind the entire Christian religion, and using your logic...

Scientists, researchers, lend me your ears

I'm a first semester Master's student doing bioinformatics work in evolutionary genetics of hemoglobin. I'm not sure what my thesis will be, but right now I'm looking into some programs available that will take a multiple sequence alignment and a phylogenetic tree and find probable amino acid...

    Scientists Baffled Again.

If we had all the answers, I'd be out of a job. Hell, I currently have no idea what I'm doing!

I was accepted! New master's degree, here I come!

Congrats! I've just started my Master's in which I'll be doing evolutionary genomics research. The Master's should run me two years, and I'll be doing a PhD elsewhere which should run me anywhere between 3-5 years.

I have been converted, I no longer buy evolution

Sounds like I initially took this thread on face value rather than actually read further into it. Whoopsies :D

I have been converted, I no longer buy evolution

Sounds like you initially took evolution on face value rather than actually read anything about it, because your source is terrible and I can't imagine that being very convincing if you had a strong background in the theory.

Chemist Shows How RNA Can Be the Starting Point for Life

By using this logic, you have to argue that humanity has been around forever. After all, we never seen life being formed by nothing by an entity that has always existed--not to mention nobody has ever observed an entity that has always existed. At least in science, we know that chemistry...

    Complex molecules seen in space

You can't claim something to be logical and therefore it is. Something has to follow logically in order to be logical. What you're doing is equivalent to spin. You haven't even bothered to defend your claim, either. It's like...you're toying with us. Neckbeards...

    Complex molecules seen in space

How could you be so nonchalant in making things up and trying to pass it off as fact? You, sir, got balls! I don't have enough balls to lie to people so blatantly.

    Christianity and Evolution are Irreconciliable

Nathan Poe did a decent job, but I felt like I had to add one thing: Please, oh, please read Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond! You'd be better off if you did your homework before humiliating yourself like this.

    Evolution

Laymen typically don't read the scientific literature. The stuff in textbooks tend to be relatively established in the scientific community.

Name one "weakness" of evolutionary theory

This is a clue I shouldn't be wasting my time. I'm not even getting legitimate rebuttals, just short, "Nuh uh," statements. Clearly, I've overestimated your intelligence.

Name one "weakness" of evolutionary theory

Lucky for us, evolutionary research has already accomplished this goal. Hahaha, I guess you're declaring geology and paleontology as merely guess work. I guess you reject radiometric dating as well. Maybe you're just someone interested in philosophy and trying to tear into the problems of...

Name one "weakness" of evolutionary theory

I've already explained that the results have been observed, what hasn't been observed is the event. The event is constructed from the result of numerous kinds of battery tests, like when the function of Srs2 was determined. Fortunately, paleontology is a form of recorded history, and luckily...

Name one "weakness" of evolutionary theory

Indirect evidence allows you to piece together a puzzle without having to directly observe an event, and the results are pretty accurate. Macroevolution isn't really anything special. Let's put the puzzle pieces together: speciation has been observed, the occurrence of novel traits has been...

Name one "weakness" of evolutionary theory

What do you think molecular biologists do? Do you think they're observing physiology on level of a cell with a microscope? Do you think molecular geneticists determine gene function by just watching the events unfold before them? Molecular geneticists use various assays in order to...

    Darwinian Logic and Genetics

Well, he's not entirely wrong. Evolution can occur without adaptation, like genetic drift where it homogenizes populations out of mere chance. Of course, all adaptation that can be carried over to the next generation is evolution.

    Darwinian Logic and Genetics

You mean you don't get an exactly perfect ratio when doing the crossbreeding experiments!? *gasps* ;)

    Scientists create self replicating RNA

Creative people who are bored and social outcasts do this kind of thing. It wasn't that long ago when I was a bored teenager.

Guys, why are you feeding the troll? It's obvious he's not being serious. Check out his Superman post. This is something straight out of 4chan.
