    praying for priests

I seem to remember hearing that we should pray for priests during the processional and recessional (especially during the recessional), but I can't seem to find any sort of documentation of this. Is this something I've dreamed up? Or can someone verify that this is a real practice? Thanks!

    How to stop???

I really like a guy where I work. He's kind, funny, smart. He's also married. The other night, I had a really detailed dream about him. The next day at work, we had to work in the same area (usually we are in different areas). I told him that about the dream I had and I think I made a mistake by...

What teachings? Is there a specific section of the Catechism that I haven't found??? Are there any books that you know of that can help me?

    Catholic Morality -- please help

It's supposed to be about Catholic morality in general. I think that if I go into different areas and applications, I would end up writing my own book. :sorry:

    Catholic Morality -- please help

I have an assignment for my RCIA class. It's not due until February, but I wanted to start on it now since the holidays can be hectic. We've been asked to write a short 1-2 page paper on a topic for our RCIA class (if we feel comfortable). The topic I drew out of the hat was "Catholic Morality"...

    Are these all MORTAL sins????

Thanks for the link. It cleared things up for me. I just wanted to clarify my first post about becoming Catholic. It was starting to seem impossible to actually receive Communion because I end up doing at least one of those things everyday. I had read, in other posts, the "requirements" for...

    Are these all MORTAL sins????

I was wondering about mortal sins and saw these (and other similar) websites: http://www.saintaugustinechurch.org/university/goodconfession.html http://www.willingshepherds.net/Examination.html The question I have is: If I've done these things, have I committed MORTAL sins? If so, I...

I did! I start RCIA this fall. I also agree with Snoochface that you should post on the OBOB board. There are a couple of us over there.

Which practices are not consistent with YOUR Christianity

What exactly is "Use of mild drugs (including psych. prescription meds)"? Does that mean using prescription and OTC medicines instead of "street drugs"?

    Foreign language Bibles and missals

A friend of mine is going to visit her family in another country (Germany) for Christams. I thought about giving her a Bible and/or missal in German for Christmas for her trip. What do you think of this idea? Also, does anyone know where I can get a Catholic Bible and/or missal in German...

    Crucifix

I was looking at crucifixes on ebay and saw this one. Why does it have a skull and cross-bones? http://cgi.ebay.com/ANTIQUE-1800s-PRIESTS-STANDING-PECTORAL-SKULL-CRUCIFIX_W0QQitemZ250005271060QQihZ015QQcategoryZ35814QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

    missing mass = mortal sin?

I have two more questions about missing mass. First, is it a mortal sin for me to miss mass if I'm not Catholic yet? (I haven't been baptized yet) Second, once I am Catholic, if I can't physically make it to mass but can watch the mass on EWTN on Sunday, would that fulfill my obligation to...
