    I don't get the bible!

I won't interpret the Bible for you, but I think this speaks for an opportunity to ask God to give you clarity over these matters or help you to arrive at an answer. I share your feelings on what is said and I asked and received. You will, too. Accept what you can and always keep an open...

Some concerns I have with myself...

Easy advice is to just make it a point and open the Bible every day and read even just a chapter or two. I know if I don't make it a point to do that, I grow father and father from where I ought to be. Have a mind to read and to try to apply basic things from the messages. It will make the...

My mum is racist and controlling.

It would be tough if you wanted to be with a dark skinned man. Feeling disgust is natural. One of my parents is racist and it is disgusting (even drops the N word). But I know forcing my views won't help. You can pray and you can try to say how much it bothers you and request her to be...

    My mom is racist...

Not a lot you can do. You can pray. You can remind her its not our place to judge others, fish out examples of Asians who do not fit that stereotype. But ultimately only she can change and only God can change her.

    How to pray?

Not an authority, but I have had no problems saying verbally or even mentally something and meaning to address it to God. I don't even specify who I am communicating with, I just know it is meant to be to God and he knows I am praying. I don't use any posture though sometimes when I am floored...

    Religion seeker

I don't read the KJV as much anymore. I find other translations to be better. ASV is supposed to be one of the most 'accurate' but I also like the ESV and have begun to appreciate the NIV and I read the NKJV simply because I have one in my room. Regardless of the people's unscientific...

Is premarital sex a sin in every circumstance?

I think it's more the idea that having sex makes 'two one flesh' if I am going to take it by the Bible (of course, in practical purposes, many slept with prostitutes, concubines, etc, and weren't condemned for that). I don't think of it in terms of cheating or whatever, which I see as being...

    Church

I do but mostly to appease my mother and because I've been doing it for so long. I tend to think church is over-emphasized, though. I prefer joining study groups or what have you which require actual interaction versus just listening to a preacher, saying the same old same old, and singing.

Is premarital sex a sin in every circumstance?

I personally believe premarital sex in itself is a sin. I don't think that anyone who does it is not going to be saved, especially depending on their heart. Some might not realize it's wrong (even if the Bible makes it clear it is), others struggle with not doing it or struggle in other ways...

    Sooo...what should I do?

He sounds a bit unstable and paranoid. I share similar problems, but he may really just not be worth it. You can only do so much. Apologize for anything you know you have done or have done being unaware and encourage him to tell you when something has hurt him because you don't want to do...

Need a translation with original names of God

Use Strong's Concordance. You can find it online on Blueletter Bible. It usually goes with the KJV all times I have used it, but it gives you, when you click on the colored word, the Hebrew or Greek word with a note on its part of speech and different meanings. So it should give you the...

    Why Christianity?

Thorough/detailed account (not polished so there are redundancies): I went back to Christianity because I wanted to be virtuous and to obey God's law but couldn't as well as I thought. I found knowing I had the blood atonement and the strength in Christ to make up for my lack of strength to be...

I wasn't Baptized. Am i going to Hell?

I don't see why you would suffer because you weren't baptized, really, but it would be better to just do it. You can be baptized by any minister. Some people say you should be full immersed, others don't think it matters. Just ask God to show you guys what to do when where and how. It'll...

Don't want to be bisexual anymore. Any help?

Maybe it would help not to see yourself in terms of being bi, straight, or whatever. I personally don't think you can help who you like, but it should encourage you all the more to lay everything at Jesus' feet and to cling to him and keep asking him and trusting him to bring you to overcome...

I hate my father, please help

Even if you aren't looking for advice, having been in the same situation, I might be able to say a few things. First, I understand those feelings of utter rage, anger, and hate. It's natural. There is on excuse to treat anyone the way he is treating you. However, while the situation may be...

what ia your opinion of Obama?

I think he has honorable intentions and means well more so than he has actual power to express that through policies since the president doesn't run the show on his own. imo, there are others pulling most of the strings and who would teach him a lesson if he went off to disregard their wishes...

    The New Thread on Homosexuality

Hard to say, but I am not into orientation labels in the first place. In any case, my view is that I am not to judge individuals. I'm certainly not into promiscuous behavior on anyone's part, but people who do not express their preferred sexuality or do with a single mate are people who I have...

To drink or not to drink? That is the question

It's not a sin. In excess, it is. Then it is called drunkenness. I drink on occasion but not excessively (Don't get me wrong, I've been tipsy and felt like I over did it a few times, but made sure not to go anymore.). Most people in my family do, even those who are good examples of...

Believers who refuse to call themselves Christian

I don't know anyone who believes but refuses to say they are Christian. I can see the rationale behind such, though. To some, Christianity is just religion and separate the spirituality of it from it. I can see Anne Rice's point. I, too, don't like how it seems you have to hold these...

    should a woman be educated?

I've never run into this attitude. A woman should be educated if she wants to be educated. And education is a wonderful thing to have and will give anyone a slight edge, in theory, at least, in finding opportunities to support herself and her family if she chooses to have one in this world...
