Are Baptists who hold to TULIP also Reformed?

It is great to be back and to recognize the names of some who are still here! I've been gone a while...... In answer to the OP I call myself 'reformed baptist' and believe in credo baptism. I also call myself Calvinist, Reformed, Baptist, Christian and cling to the doctrines of grace, the T U...

I may disagree with you all

Just realize there is only one truth and it is fine as the edge of a razor blade and when we veer to the left or the right we have left the truth. God's truth in scripture is absolute.

What I'm Reading -- How About You?

I'm presently reading Puritan Reformed Spirituality by Joel Beeke and am really enjoying it! It is presently challenging me about the Sabbath and the more I read the more I'm inclined to return to the belief in my childhood when we fully honored the Lord's Day! Yes, Christ is my Sabbath but...

    All Dogs Go to Heaven

How could an animal be in heaven when they have no soul, no regeneration, salvation or holiness. They serve a wonderful purpose here on earth as pets but no where does scripture say they have an hereafter.

How do we inherit original sin?

Sorry to have responded to the posts here that are not written by Calvinists as this forum, being Semper Reformanda, is for the edification of Calvinists only. Questions about Calvinism may be posted in the 'Ask a Calvinist' thread.

    Pictures of Jesus?

I too object to 'pictures' of Christ and find them blasphemous! Christ is wholly man and wholly God and there is no way to capture His deity. It is also a breach of the second commandment. It is so prevalent today that it would seem almost impossible to stop seeing those drawings. 'Pictures'...

How do we inherit original sin?

Ephesians 2:1-3 2 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted...

How do we inherit original sin?

While a person is unregenerate he cannot choose what is pleasing to God but only according to his nature. He is powerless to reach or please God in any way until and unless God does a work of regeneration in his heart. In the Ordo Salutis, the order of salvation, a man is first called and his...

How do we inherit original sin?

No. Christ had two natures as He was fully man and fully God. He was born of a human mother but had none of the sin which would have been from a human father as He was conceived by the Holy Spirit.

How do we inherit original sin?

2 Cor 5:21 ' For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.' It is by imputation.

Just giving thanks for anonymous gift of blessings!

Oh my, thanks so much for such fantastic good wishes! I have been so blessed and have so much to give thanks for, but most specially for being guided to the doctrines of grace! If you know Him you are so very blessed as the whole world lies in darkness!

A Calvinist in an Arminian Congregation

Remember the majority of historical Christianity will not be passing thru the narrow gate but have chosen the broad path. The small remnant are willing to sacrifice all of their own thoughts and ideas for His and to put their life on the line in living for Him. Historical Christianity has not...

A Calvinist in an Arminian Congregation

Why not just search the scripture for the truth and go with it. I did that and came across Acts 13:48 and then I stumbled across Ephesians 2 and knew there were more scriptures to validate those thoughts. I prayed to be directed to His truth and began to see it then on every page of scripture...

A Calvinist in an Arminian Congregation

Just consider all the good that Christ did while he lived on earth, the healings, miracles and such. Did all the people love Him for that? No, they hated Him, unless they were in the group of His followers. Why should we expect different treatment! 'All who would live godly in Christ Jesus...
