Embedded age and science and God

2 Peter 3:5 New International Version (NIV) 5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. No support for "embedded age" here. Or, if you don't like the NIV, even in Martin Luther's translation...

Embedded age and science and God

So "embedded age" is a man-made concept, not biblical. (Do you ACTUALLY BELIEVE that God created Adam with tooth cavities and scars on his body [just to use two examples] in order to "embed" a certain age in Adam? Unbelievable, and not supported by scripture.)

    Is Evolution THE GREAT APOSTASY

Evolution does not concern itself with Christianity. Therefore the question does not make sense.

australian senator resighs over gay marriage lead to inappropriate behavior with animals remark

Thank you. I have noticed that in many (most?) discussions here on this forum many people are not really interested in the truth (or finding it), or interested in learning what's behind other people's point of view. Actually the reason why I'm still here is that it is for me a way to learn...

Can you please explain in a few words why it is you think "the beginning of farming supports creationism"?

australian senator resighs over gay marriage lead to inappropriate behavior with animals remark

That is why the state needs to find a different word what it does: The recognition that two persons are now an "economic unit". Marriage has a sacred dimension to it for many religious people: most Christians regard marriage as a sacrament, Taoists feel the sacredness of marriage in the...

australian senator resighs over gay marriage lead to inappropriate behavior with animals remark

Of course they do not enjoy (or endure) exactly the same rights. My purpose for mentioning this was to point out the double standards the majority of our elected representatives seem to be comfortable with. As far as the senator in question is concerned, he did say some other very silly...

United Socialist States of America - USSA

The above list has nothing to do with socialism. If you are interested in the subject, maybe find out what socialism is. (BTW, when you say in your signature that socialism worked wonders for the USSR you seem to be mixed up a bit, because the USSR was communist.)

australian senator resighs over gay marriage lead to inappropriate behavior with animals remark

The really odd thing about the whole same-sex marriage debate in Australia is that government agencies like Centrelink, ATO, etc. use the term "partnered" for persons who are deemed to "cohabit", regardless of the sex (or sexual orientation) of the partners. Partnered persons are treated...

australian senator resighs over gay marriage lead to inappropriate behavior with animals remark

I would just like to point out that the statement contained in the topic of this thread is misleading: The senator did not resign from the senate - he is still a senator. He was dismissed by Tony Abbott from the position as parliamentary secretary to Tony Abbott.

Mormon effort stands out in its organized self-sufficiency

I thank you for this explanation. I wonder if we could narrow this down a bit more, though: Of course we all agree (I think) that it is not on account of our works that we are saved. We are expected to produce good works. So, what happens if we fail to produce good works? Are we saved? or...

Mormon effort stands out in its organized self-sufficiency

I wonder if you could please explain this apparent contradiction: On the one hand you say that you believe that works are not unnecessary (meaning that they are necessary). On the other hand you say that works are not necessary for salvation. How is it possible to have it both ways?

Mormon effort stands out in its organized self-sufficiency

Generally Protestant Christians believe that acts of charity are "WORKS", and are therefore not required for salvation. (And some/(many?) might go further to believe that "WORKS" are not only unnecessary, but actually evil, and should therefore be avoided.)
