Is salvation in your hands?
What are you supposed to work out?
And
Why do so many Christians try to work out other peoples salvation for them?
You're telling me this based on your current views of the bible, but I'm not hearing God telling me that personally.Philippians 2:12-13 (KJV)
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
First, we aren't saving ourselves or working for Salvation. Salvation is a Gift from God - Jesus Christ died on the Cross for our sins. This portion of Scripture makes perfect sense if you put it in context. How about "Exercise your Salvation" - use it - yield to the Will of God - and read Verse 13? The Apostle Paul is telling them that he wants them to be ACTIVE Christians - more in his absence - not less. This is an exhortation and encouragement by the Apostle Paul for service to God. Lastly, we can't exercise the Salvation of other Christians. Other Christians are responsible for what they do or don't do. The best we can do is encourage other Christians and serve as a good example for them.
Let's assume that you serve a human king and he asked you to do something for him. How would you feel about refusing his request? Now, change the example to serving the King of Kings - your Creator.

The corrupt law fabricators. Now who did John the Baptist target, was it the common folk or the corrupt law givers?
And I don't care if you never cared that I cared about.......Yes, or I wouldn't have made the post. I really don't care if you agree or disagree.
Indeed, I don't think John the Baptist was one of those Bible bashing hell thumping preachers. The corrupt law fabricators.
In a biblical sense Agape (translated Love or Charity) is the willfull act of laging down ones life for a neighbour aka Jesus of Nazareth.Hmm, love.
What is love?
For me it's the desire to learn about others and encourage them do the same.
You can't have a relationship with someone if you don't desire to know them.
... Its an S for Salvation. Just like this is an XP for Christ.I don't know Morse code.
-.- ..-. -.-.KFC?
Does that even happen anymore? In a biblical sense Agape (translated Love or Charity) is the willfull act of laging down ones life for a neighbour aka Jesus of Nazareth.
To be honest I havn't encountered it, although I have heard that it happens.Does that even happen anymore?
Oh well, it's something Christian's have to live up to I guess. To be honest I havn't encountered it, although I have heard that it happens.
Nevertheless this is the Love that we are called to by Christ and by the acts of the Apostles, it is the way of Agape and it was this sort of Love that made Galen (2nd century AD) declare "For their contempt of death [and its sequel] is patent to us every day, and likewise their restraint in cohabitation..."

New thread coming up about this.Simply means to exercise or exhibit the salvation one already have. Nothing in the context about works-salvation (works to achieve salvation).

It's very simple; salvation is a process, wherein we cooperate with God in becoming who we were created to be. It's about change, real change that God desires to effect in us, but not without our cooperation, our willingness to allow Him to do that work.Is salvation in your hands?

Well, i hope I can disagree as well. Salvation is a package deal. It's realized by the way we live out our lives, with what we do with what we're given. Scripture reveals that branches grafted in can always be cut off, soil can first sprout the seed but later fail to keep it from withering and dying, faith can be rejected, the heavenly gift can be tasted but later spurned. Salvation, justification, and sanctification cannot be separated.Do you mind if I disagree?
Salvation is being saved from something. That something is the wrath of God. The justice every human deserves.
The cooperating process is called sanctification.
