Uh, I am not in disagreement with you on the meaning. I just don't think the word "believe" is a mistranslation and that it says the same thing you are saying. Words in the English language can have multiple meanings as to what they are saying. This is based on looking at the context and cross references.

I have 30 years of daily study with a Dr from Stanford university. He not only spoke and taught all the ancient languages , but owned himself the largest collection of biblical manuscripts in private hands behind only the Vatican. He used the original ancient texts to teach from.

This isn't new, i and tens of thousands of others who have been taught by Him over the last 60 years know this as well. What i'm presenting to you is what he would teach on the first day ,basic Faith understanding.

Could you please let me know the name of the Dr. from Stanford? I'm a Stanford undergrad. Thanks in advance. :)

If you promise not to beat me over the head with Him. Dr. Gene Scott

I promise I won't. I haven't even read through this thread yet, to be honest. I just did a keyword search for Stanford because I was looking for another thread, spotted your post, and was curious. Thank you for telling me his name.

Are you seeking your theology Dr.

No, but we have general education requirements and are permitted to take courses not related to our major to fulfill them. I've taken a couple of religious studies classes, and am hoping to fit more into my schedule. One of the most enriching classes I took last year was titled The Bible and Its Interpreters. I was hoping that maybe Dr. Scott was still teaching, but I looked him up, and he passed away some time ago. One of my professors in that department has been there for decades, so I'll have to ask her if she remembers him. Thanks again.
