My sister is a hopeless drug addict and probably a sociopath, and my Dad has dementia. She is manipulating the ever-living hell out of him. She has been spending $3000 to $5000 dollars a month on his credit card for years. It has been estimated that he has spent a million dollars on her because she wants to do nothing but drugs. He refuses to quit letting her spend all the money she wants. We are seeking a conservatorship over my father in court. We already have the required two doctors' statements that he is incompetent, but the lawyers are fighting it and we lost our court date. Our lawyer says they will keep filing motions and seemed to indicate there's nothing he can do. We have an appointment with another lawyer a week from Monday. This is tearing my family apart; my Mom has lost 30 pounds from stress. We have a copy of the restraining order that my evil sister's ex-husband filed against her stating that she beat on him for fifteen minutes and then pulled a knife on him. We desperately need a court date. Please pray for us! Thanks.

I am so sorry to hear about your dad and your sister – my heart goes out to you. I just said a prayer for them, asking the Lord to work in their situation according to His perfect will. I said a prayer for you and your mom, as well. I think it would be a good idea if you can check with these organizations if they can assist you in some way or the other: Overcomers Outreach and Adult Rehabilitation Centers.
