He was/is our quarterback after all. Our catholic quarterback. I'll take these people down the secular highway to Hell, if he doesn't come back soon. :)

See? Paul was right. Things are already deteriotating. ;)

I'm not used to big dogs. Mine is a corgi. looks nice MG. Same breed as Obama's?

If I saw that out in the woods, I'd think she was a bear.

Portuguese water dog?

MountainGirl mentioned earlier in the thread that the dog's breed is Newfoundland. If you've ever seen a Labrador, Labradors were bred out of Newfoundland dogs in an attempt to produce a smaller dog with shorter fur that maintained some of the same personality characteristics as Newfies. Not that Labradors are small themselves, but relatively speaking, compared to Newfies, they are. :) If you look at the upper east coast of Canada, there is actually a body of water called Newfoundland and a city called Labrador, or something like that- two things that I can't help but feel might be related to these dog breeds in some way. ;)

A lady used to walk two Newfies around my old neighborhood sometimes. I can confirm that they do indeed look like large bear cubs. ;) However, they seemed very friendly and drooled a lot (The later is not a negative. My favorite breed is the golden retriever, and goldens are known for their drooling. :) ). I would have introduced myself to them, if not for my golden retriever, who was a bit intimidated (At least for a while. Like the 20th time he saw them, he barked at them like "I'm not scared of you! My human is bigger than both of you combined!"). ;)

They seem like good dogs. I don't have much experience with them, but they seem likeable.

Oh, and I can confirm that this is not the same breed as the President's dog. I forget what breed the President's dog is, but it's much smaller and has a different build.

My uncle. Dad's brother in law. Charming , successful gas station, then motel manager. Became rich. My mother liked him. He was good with the ladies. As I found out later, he had been having an affair with another woman for 15 years. Don't think she was the only one either. When I visited his home, I always got a sinister vibe about him. He was polar opposite to my father who was totally naïve and pure. My uncle gave off a real cool city vibe I guess since he lived in a major city and we lived in the country.
Turns out his 3 sons all got divorces. I see my uncle's personality as a kind of virus in the family that passed to his sons. The family lacked happiness in my view. Their values were money, success, status. I don't think my aunt ever returned to the catholic faith either. She's 97 now.

I really like your dad.
Everyone liked Dad because he liked everyone. But my older brothers didn't respect him much because he was indecisive about things and even consulted them on certain things. :) like buying cars.
But they couldn deny his non-judgmental ability to love.

I might be a cradle catholic but just not steeped in Catholicism like Colin. He is well-read and personally I think he is a good mix of traditional and progressive. I mean he is old-school but still very open minded. Ideal for TLT.
