Iow, a Calvinist doctrine, right? Some day I should study Calvinist beliefs and maybe church history. I really only know what I believe and why (I'm a convert to the MB; it is not in my heritage).

Well, TULIP is a convenient acronym for Calvinist beliefs, but there is also a lot more to Calvinism than just those five points.

Maybe, but may I suggest instead read the Bible through yourself, totally, several times.
There's no other TRUTH so PERFECT, and then when you open a book and see errors right away,
you won't waste time studying what is futile and often harmful. That's what I firmly believe all my life
AFTER being saved. Yhwh graciously kept me from spending much if nay any time
on those things contrary to Him.

Hey, Jeff. Yes, I have read the Bible through several times, taken an OT and NT survey course, and done topical studies using a Greek Theological Dictionary. I converted to MB because I can fully stand behind the theology and I trust my pastor and my church. But knowing why I believe what I do does not help me to engage in intelligent conversations with those of other beliefs. I know nothing about Calvinism or Catholicism or any other religion.

That's a pretty loaded question. I have no idea what the various Anabaptist sects believe. My guess is that since God knows all things, that he would certainly know (in the several senses of knowing) who would do what in all contexts. But I think a discussion about Molinism would be incomplete unless it also contained discussions on such issues as the various definitions of God's will, and the context of his nature. I'm not sure that a discussion like that would take place here on behalf of all the denominations of Anabaptists. Theology like this may very well be different in different denominations. Maybe someone else has a better idea of this.... ?

I have one more question.

What about Israel. Given the strong non-resistance stance, I'd imagine that Anabaptists don't support Israel militarily, but are there Anabaptists that see the nation of Israel as being Scriptural fulfillment and believe the nation should exist?

"Officially today" , doesn't matter: as you I think noted the 'denomination' has gone astray.

At the start(centuries ago) and for a while, Calvinists* would murder Anabaptists without a second thought, so we didn't get along with Calvinists any more than with r*me's ilk. (i.e. not at all)

The Calvinists I've met in person have been struggling for decades to be saved; there is some kind of 'block' or 'hurdle' they can't cross, they can't "take up their cross to follow Jesus any day" yet. Same with those others I've met in person all my life - they can't "break free" to follow Jesus. Oh, a few have.... the results are ANGELS REJOICING THROUGHOUT HEAVEN ! :)

but not many..... (God takes no pleasure in loss of life, anyone's life)
*not just Calvinists, not by a long shot, and millions of lives(some Anabaptists) slaughtered by other denominations and mostly by

But LORD , we were never in bondage to any man.....
HOW then do you say we shall be made free...

any who serves sin is a slave to sin.......and the slave shall not abide in the house
forever.....but the SON abides in the HOUSE forever.......if the son shall set you free
you shall be free indeed
IF any man has not the spirit of Christ , he is none of his
and if he has the spirit , then the body is dead because o sin...
either a man is a servant to sin , or a servant to Christ
a slave to sin, or a slave to Christ....
their is no middle ........either one has been made free by the power of the grace
of GOD.......by Christ we have access into this grace wherein we stand
or a man walks in darkness of sin.......
Their is no middle......either we have been made free IN CHRIST
or we know him not...
I have spoken to many , and they have no idea, what I speak .
Christ did not come that we should abide in darkness
but HE is the light ....by which a man can see and walk
IF a man says he loves god or Christ......yet walks in darkness of sin
he lies and does not the truth.
FOR in CHRIST the messiah and savoir , those who walk by the SPIRIT
shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh..........
Awake my peoples of the lord , arise and Christ shall give thee light
yeah I say awake unto RIGHTEOUSNESS and sin NOT
for the grace of God , which brings salvation has appeared unto the world
TEACHING us , TO DENY all ungodliness and wordly lusts
to be living RIGHTEOUSLY , HOLY and godly in tis present world
IF ONE has CHRIST............they know , if they truly are of HIM
the power I speak of.......
for the spirit is not darknesss , nor leads us in darkness
IT LEAD US IN RIGHTEOUSNESS , HOLINESSS and godliness
IT IS OUR GUIDE, and by the Spirit we have the power to be ye Holy
as he is holy.......his righteousness , his sayings, his guidance SHOW US HOW TO WALK
HIS LAW is on our heart, for his law is SPIRITUAL
he fulfilled it , his sayings full fill it , and by it we live it ....the new man created unto
GOOD works..............amen.

Frienden thalord, Amen! The Spirit of Christ...if we truly have it...HE sets us free from the bondage of sin. What is impossible for man/woman to do IS possible by the power of Christ. If anyone finds their self is unable to overcome sin, that is the weakness of the flesh. When Christ's spirit comes to live within and we DO what HE calls us to do by faith, HE gives the power to be an overcome, and free indeed!

We walk either in the flesh or by the Spirit and the proof is in the fruit in our LIFE...truly hidden in HIM...OR walking in the darkness of our human understanding and inability to overcome. HE promises that we WILL overcome sin and the world. How is it that the message today seems to be that we will always remain sorry sinners? That sounds like unbelief in the word of God, to me.

Peace joy love.................
The message of today , is truly as you said...........one of unbelief...........
for I say.............that if one truly believes in CHRIST
then all things are possible to he or she who believes.
at the very heart of this gospel of unbelief , we see its author is of darkness.
Who would tell man.............Did Christ really say by Faith in HIM you can overcome sin.....
no, surely ye cant , god knows ye cant overcome, has he really said YE MUST
WHO would say that...................a hint........
who said..........DID GOD really say ye cant eat of the tree, that ye will die
SURELY ye wont die.........for God does know that in the day ye eat
ye shall become as gods knowing good and evil.,,,,
The author of this gospel is the dark one
for HE knows full well...........that if a man or woman is left powerless in darkness
their end is perdition........
also note that this gospel of today
does not set its captives free.
JESUS came to SET the captives free.
THE same one who lied to eve
IS THE one who DOES NOT set the captives free........
and this gospel that leaves one in darkness..................does not set any free.
its author is the serpent....for we know satan does not set captives free.
he cant , its impossilble, for in him is no truth
and we KNOw the TRUTH alone is what sets a man free.............
JESUS , the TRUTH , the LIFE and the WAY
I say to one and t oall.................walk in the WAY......................amen.
