• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. I have generalized anxiety so..i stress about anything....

However i feel so alone, even when praying I feel I'm praying to myself.. J just feel God isnt looking out for me or he just doesn't give a **** about me...


Not much has gotten better, sometimes I feel God is just waiting for me to off myself...Im trying my best to hang on..and he just doesn't care..

Idk what to do..im trying not to give up...its hard..i feel alone.

I know someone who suffers from this disorder and how tough it can be. I empathize with you.
God does really love you and care. For some reason that I don't fully understand, strong emotions like anger and anxiety can get in the way of us hearing from God. That's awful since that's when we need to hear from him most!

Have you tried anti-depressants for GAD? I think psychotropic meds should be only used as a last resort, but if you are thinking of suicide, it might be a good idea.

I have found thought stopping, replacing negative thoughts with positive ones (such as bible verses) and relaxation techniques to be very effective for anxiety. They need to be practiced over and over for time before you get to a level you want to be. It's like weight lifting.
