I'm 37, the chemical change to 30 wasn't so bad, but the one i had recently has been rocky. Finding it harder and harder to relate to anything at all really. Fortunately, I'm not really attached to the stuff that alienates me ... so I guess I'm looking for something "else?" . It's interesting anyway.

Finding it hard to relate to anything.
Hmm. Great way to put it, as I could say that some times I feel the same.

Right now, at my age I'm feeling a bit disconnected from the rest of the world. That's tonight, of course.
Tomorrow might be a different feeling and emotion.

I think disconnect is a good thing, it signals the beginning of something new, it's like my mind and heart is saying "nothing that exists is like what I want to do." Another change of my 30s has been that I learn to do things supernaturally that I used to identify as needing a lot of people to accomplish in previous decades. Gifts bestowed earlier mature and become far more effective in accomplishing their purpose. So though the disconnect usually feels bad in a sense because there's no momentum, I understand it is good because usually something new comes out of it.
.
I think the prolonged period of disconnect I was experiencing has communicated at least the direction to go.
.
I hope something new and encouraging comes out of your disconnect :)

Hehe! My apologies. I meant disconnected, but thank you. I can see what you mean with "something new".

@Michael Collum, the whole feeling of the lack of momentum-- wow, you totally hit the head on the nail, or is it, the nail on the head? :mmh:
Regardless, I agree with what you've said. Disconnect can sometimes be a good thing. Cheers for your reply :)

@look4hope, thank you for the encouragement :) and for connecting, John 17 Jesus prayed "may they be one as we are" the "word" i get from the connection is "keep being genuine, the balance is the best part."

I'm 37, married with two kids. I have been battling depression off and on for quite some time. It seems to pop up the worst when I think about how busy my life is and how little time I have to do other things. I feel like I don't have time for anything outside the walls of my home. My husband and I both work full time to make ends meet. After taking care of the day to day responsibilities, I have very little time for anything else. There are other things that I find important that I just don't know how to make time for. I would love to spend more quality time with my kids and family, get involved in church activities or do some kind of community service. I want to show my kids that life is more than just making money to survive or to purchase things we want. I want to show them to think of others. But I myself feel like I live in this bubble of my own life. I often feel trapped. And it is even harder when my husband works out of town for weeks at a time. I want to feel good about my life, but most of the time I feel like I'm not being very productive...other than surviving.

I feel like a skipped a few decades and doing nana things in my 30s. Like gardening and knitting.

But then...i have other friends in their 30s and they still reading YA novels and gushing over comic book heroes.

Very confusing. But 30s is an exciting time because for Jesus all the stuff happened when he turned 30. So spiritually I think im maturing.

So far I am enjoying my thirties ( I'll be 32 in a month). I find that I am not under as much pressure to achieve or reach specific goals. I've accepted my life, and I'm enjoying all the nice little things that we sometimes take for granted. I also enjoy travelling and being outdoors ( in good weather), and I have been trying to make the most out of the opportunities I have to travel.

I find I am happier and more content now than I was a few years ago. I think I was under a lot of pressure to have certain aspects of my life fall into place by 30. I allowed the disappointments to get to me at times. Now, I only focus on specific short term goals ( when necessary) and I don't focus too much on the future. I have become much better at trusting God to direct me

I turned 32 earlier this month. I tend to feel saddened the day before my birthday, and on my birthday, I more-or-less cope with things and remember that: a) the turning of the number doesn't mean I actually aged a full year that day, and b) a beautiful eternity, far beyond whatever I can experience on this earth, will be there for me when my time does come (hopefully a long while from now, because I feel like there is much that I am meant to do in this life, first.)

Not sure why but recently, when I wake up...first thing that come to mind is the realization of being 31. Wasn't it just yesterday when I took a trip to Europe,
was out n' about, with out a care in the world?
No....I keep thinking I'll wake up 24 again.
How marriage and children completely change the dynamics of the life you live.

Anyone else going through this?
Feels great to know I'm not alone in this. ;)
Tell me your experience of being 30 something.
-J:D

Well I'm 34, just got fired from my job about three weeks ago and really have no idea what I'm going to do moving forward. I worked as an exterminator for almost 2 years and was a security guard before that. I have a college degree, but I lost interest in the degree major and didn't get a job in that field. I don't really have a career at this point in my life. I'm praying for guidance from the lord. Most of the jobs I see are sales and customer service, but I don't think I'd be good for either of those. Anyway, happy thanksgiving. That's my situation.

Wouah, I am 3* something, mid thirties!, and honestly,it is only this year, a few months ago that I realized that I was not longer in my early 30's...on the paper.
The fact is that I worked with young children for years and I look so much younger that I always behaved after the age I have in my mind=young..
So, basically, I don't think about my age, neither do I tell my age when asked. I need to return to some form of physical activity because I don't want to feel my age in my back and knees!!
So, I am single never married and no kids.... I still feel the way I felt about it years ago: excited about the married life and desiring to marry.
The only difference between then and now is that I have grown and I became so much stronger in my faith and spiritual identity! I have taken risk to advance my career, travel and further my education....I have served God in exciting ways.... Amen to that!! So with my age of today, I believe that I am better equipped to handle the demands and needs of a marriage and to enjoy the simple pleasures of the marriage....

I am abstinent and I really treasure the rewards of sexual purity. It was not always like that, so it is really a blessing and a happy dance in spirit for me to have a desire of being married without all the temptations and frustration that one can encounter while waiting... Amen and I praise and give glory God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit!
